    Tinnitus Since:
    05/2014
T onset one day after surgical removal of sebaceous cyst from back of my neck.
Have tried numerous supplements commonly tried by seemingly most new T sufferers - gingko, lipoflavonoids, etc. -- none helped. Even before T began, I've used omega3 fish oil, cinnamon [I'm insulin dependent, Type 2 diabetic, daily diet/nutrition conforms to such lifestyle, very little salt or sugar, low carb intake], no caffeine or alcohol, clonidine 0.01mg [HBP] X 2 daily [AM/PM] which supposedly has some anti-anxiety properties, Co Q10, Vit D [colon cancer surgery and chemo 2011 & 2012], flomax, and quality daily multivitamin. I continue taking these. No caffeine or alcohol. Since T, I've began 250mg X 3 daily magnesium, klonopin when needed for sleep. Would go to sleep with melatonin, but wake up in about 2 hours and not be able to go back to sleep. Sometimes sleep 'naturally.' Take small piece, maybe 0.125-025mg xanax when needed for extreme anxiety during some days. Have been prescribed numerous medications [ADs, anti-anxiety, sleep], but have been fearful to take such after reading of the many side effects, both short & long term. Also, currently involved with CBT/Mindfulness meditation and TRT. I walk vigorously about one mile each day and do cable resistance combined with daily bodily and modest weight exercises. Adhere to currently 'accepted' sleep hygiene protocols.

T sounds are perceived generally inside head, slightly more pronounced in left ear. T tend to "cycle" from a low [about 3] up to about 6-7 during "cycle" high about 3-4 days later, declines about 1-2 days into "low" again, then repeats - 24/7. Rising and declining stress and blood pressure correlate exactly with his T "cycle."

I've collected a lot of worthwhile information from this forum while 'lurking.' There seems to be many well-informed participants here and I especially appreciate the documented statements.
