      Hi,

This is my first time on anything like this forum, but I'm here to learn and try to understand why I have tinnitus and how to live with it or heal it.

I have had a high pitched whine in my hearing for the last 5 months and for the last 6 I have been on antidepressants. I am feeling better in myself but the tinnitus is really starting to annoy me.

I am hoping that this is only a side effect of the medication but I need to find something that I can do to alleviate the constant distraction.

I hope someone will be able to suggest something.

I am very pleased to have been told about this site and will continue to look in at every possible free moment.

Trying to heal it can be a fruitless endeavor but I don't blame you for trying !(I know I tried and tried and tried) I would learn to live with it as best you can. Protect your ears when needed and just enjoy life. Your brain will get bored with it over time.

Makes you wonder what happens to T sufferers like @Deb@Cwmbran when they just disappear from their own topic post!!

And was last online on the day of their post I've just seen........

I'm 4 months in and I can't get a handle on T. I hate hate hate hate Hate HATE it. My life has stopped and I'm just on survival mode. Medically I keep hitting dead ends. I'd give up a body part to take my T away!

Well, travel to Spain and obtain some trobalt. If you do, I'll give you set instructions on how to permanently lower tinnitus, with trobalt+something else.

And you are in England? So Spain is the only country you can obtain trobalt? 'Something else'? I assume you can't say what that is. I will keep this in mind. I will update my profile so you can see where I am from.

Yes, I am from England. Spain and maybe Greece are the only places you can get trobalt.

      No Trobalt in Greece.
It used to be freely available some years ago (like most anti-epileptic drugs - benzos excluded) but they stopped selling it due to poor sales.
Now its only available for limited hospital use only.
A damn shame since I'd have my own Trobalt tower by now...

Danny. You say you can permently lower ones tinnitus with trobalt . Then surely you have to take this drug all the time . If not tinnitus returns to how it was. Can you elaborate on this.
