I have been wondering, but never found an answer for this. Can a movie cause Tinnitus? For those of you who have watched The Scorch Trials, you remember there was a scene where they were almost struck by lightning, and there was this high pitched noise that lasted for seconds. I watched the movie the day before all this started happening to me, so I am unsure if that could cause it.

Hi Hariz Nonis. Any noise if it's loud can and will start tinnitus off. So plug those ears if you are any where near loud noises. Cinemas are very loud and I always plug my ears when I go to watch a movie.

If you watched the movie at relatively normal levels, no it did not cause your tinnitus. My advice is that don't try to find a reason for your T. It doesn't help in habituation - it makes it more harder. Most of us fall into this trap in the beginning. I know I did. :)

I watched it at the cinema so I guess you could say it was quite loud. But still, thanks for the advice!
