      Hi Dr Nagler,

Just popped on to the site to ask a question.

Dr Nagler, my T is fairly quiet most of the time but does spike now and again - sometimes for as little as an hour, sometimes for a few hours. It always settles down again. My question is, can this fluctuation interfere with habituation at all ? Can it slow it down or anything ??

      Thankyou. Gill

Habituation is the passive extinction of a conditioned response to a neutral stimulus. In regard to your question, I have not seen any data either way with respect to tinnitus habituation in general; however, the success rate of TRT is the same regardless of whether or not the tinnitus fluctuates.
