I would like to know why my t has now moved into "both ears"? Is this a normal occurance or was it something that I did to cause this....thanks

Same here started right....after a while it was in both my ears....so first I could sleep on the good ear...now I lay down on my back or belly....

I believe I have unilateral T but my audiologist says I probably have bilateral (it's just that the T in my right ear is so low I don't perceive it). I've had times at night where my T 'traveled' to my right ear; my audio says it's because our auditory system is like stereo on steroids (stereoids ); wherein the left can compensate for the right (and vis a vis). In doing so, sound (or more precisely, our perception of the sound) 'travels'.

      Just a hunch...

Hi Robb, first off, I noticed your mood emocon as alone. You are not alone in this! I remember when you first got T & posted. Weren't you starting to get better. When did it travel to the other ear. Most people I have talked to just have it in one ear, I guess it could be a normal progression for some, or perhaps it is temporary and will go back to just one ear.

Have you lost some hearing in this new issue. Have you seen an ENT about this.

Try not to get overwhelmed by this, it will just make it worse, I know it's easy to say but you have no choice. Did you ever have your ENT give you meds to settle you down a bit.

Are you having just constant very loud T or are you having good days too where it's tolerable.

yep that's perfectly normal, the 'epilepsy' is spreading to other neurons.

i remember few weeks after onset, the T(s) travelled from one side to the other and vice versa, very strange thing...

This disease is characterized by neurological problems which are sort of similar to other ones like parkinsons, alzheimers etc so there are chemical disbalances that spread around and go back and forth, Some people have very stable tinnitus, some have chaotic with huge differences in volume and other symptoms that are influenced by mood, weather, food and heart rate. It moving from one ear to another is nothing unusal as the problem is not at all with the ear but with the brain.
