    Tinnitus Since:
    January 2020
    Cause of Tinnitus:
Removal of tooth implant that had been causing chronic pain.
I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and six years after graduation went back to grad school to study Asian Philosophy as I had become fascinated by consciousness/awareness and what might be the physical science behind it. I had begun to practice yoga and meditation and focus on a phenomenon that had erupted during a shoulder stand one night, hearing a high pitched single "tone" within my cranium. I soon discovered "the Yoga of the Inner Sounds," which is why I decided to go back to school to learn more about this mystery. Most of my subsequent career was in software design as a systems engineer. When I retired I went back to grad school again to study Consciousness Studies formally. I received my PhD in 2016 and have written 10 books since then. My tinnitus only erupted in January 2020 after a failed implant had given me chronic pain for almost a month. I am fascinated by tinnitus though wish I could "escape" it or control it or that it would subside. But what to do? The universe and our lives are full of mystery and I take tinnitus as a particular challenge from the universe to cope with and perhaps eventually learn if it has any beneficial aspects.
