Fingers crossed you don't! Just try not to get the ear wet at all - though you probably already know that. X

Was almost late to work today because I dropped my plugs and had to clean them.

I hate dropping my plugs! I'm so paranoid about getting an ear infection, that I have to meticulously clean them even if they just drop onto the carpet at home. :(

@kuromi, I would advise against microsuction, as it would be very loud. Manuel extraction is safer. Irrigation works but still carries risks

Thank you for the advice aot! I'll be sure to ask if manual extraction is an option when I go for my next appointment. I'm just super worried about it, haha.

Yup, don't do it! Not worth the risk! Anything that can be done manually, have it done that way.

Ever heard of dental tourism? Flying out to a foreign country and getting the procedure done elsewhere is usually cheaper then having it done in the US.

I was worried about this same thing, but it turned out my dentist knew all about T and was really sympathetic about it. She completely understood.
It won't be too awkward for you - I don't think. Just remember how many people actually have T or know someone with it :) wishing you luck!

@aot I sat on the last row. I came in late and left early when the music started. I love the music portion, but I don't want to risk further injury. My music pastor told me today that he has tinnitus that sometimes interferes with sleep. I measured the decibels from the sermon and the pastor was at his loudest 67 dB.

If it helps @aot, I've had lots of noisy dental work done since developing T. It hasn't had any impact on it. I had my braces taken off, the resin holding the brackets on grinded off. My teeth filed and shaped too. Never an issue. However, I ask for a manual clean now. X

You could receive accommodations from your professor. You might explain the situation to your professor or academic advisor. Sitting in front or back might be helpful with the H. You might also record classes and then listen to them later at a comfortable sound level.
