- Tinnitus Since:

- Cause of Tinnitus:
- Excessive noise exposure.
My name is Charles, I live in the UK, I'm 25 years old. Here's my brief T story.
I had very quiet rumbling/ringing T for over 7 years. I've rode motorcycles since I was 16 and always wear ear plugs, I've had no problems with T.
Doing various jobs mainly in very loud environments, always very protective of my ears (plugs+defenders).
Recently, in 2015 I started a new job, which turned out to be the loudest yet.
Unfortunately being exposed to loud banging of iron inspection covers, when I wasn't prepared with hearing pro, I have developed life changing ringing and rumbling in both ears. Colleagues weren't interested in wearing ear defenders and I was caught out a few times, I had to leave the job.
It's now July 2015 and I've spent the past week at home, not really sleeping well, but the forum and all the online info is a big help.
I use maskers for sleeping atm and have an appointment with the ENT at the end of July, my goal for now is to cope and get through the worst, one step at a time.
Thanks to you all.Interact
