What are the best ear plugs I can use other than foam? Foam ones block out too much noise and give me awful H again plus burning wet ear May 22, 2022 at 6:28 PM

        You could try silicone.

Custom molded. Preferably a brand made out of soft silicone such as ACS or Sensaphonics.

He is never anxious at all. Its cray. I never even knew about his hearing loss or T until my acoustic trauma 5 months ago. Unbelievable man

At the mall by my apartment, something in the hallway of the restrooms by the food court emits an ultra-high pitch squealing sound. Even before my tinnitus, I would avoid it because the sound bothered me so bad, but everyone else goes in and out of there as if they don't notice it at all. Perhaps there is something with us that suffer, that we have a low tolerance for noise or something.

@kingsfan wow I so relate to that. In November month before my acoustic trauma when with my partner in shopping centre was an upstairs arcade we walked in and I walked straight back out due to the noise. Always crossed roads or avoided the direction if construction workers etc. Never been to clubs always hated loudness now this wow

That's interesting. I was always used to loud sound. Have been a musician since age 11. For a stretch of time I was either in a venue or practice studio nearly every day. Loved music and movies loud - I actually thought the volume at movie theaters was too low. But certain sounds I just could not tolerate and would avoid, such as the sound of CRT screens or beeps from trucks backing up.

I am going to take my life back, regardless, everything will be ok in the end, healing will occur, we will all be ok. Time to say F U to it!

There's a lot of reason to believe an effective treatment if not a cure are nearing development.

I hope you have a better day today….
It’s little steps every day, I to struggle and I’ve cried but I pray everyday for better days and they do happen….
It just takes a lot of time….
      Sending hugs and prayers….
I’m going out today for a good walk, try and do something to deflect away from it,,,,
it takes practice and patience but you can do it …..

Don’t be scared, the noise won’t hurt you, your brain will eventually tune it out, it just takes time to adapt. And your ears to get better….
Mine started again following major surgery eight months ago…. After 26 years,
But I’m getting used to it, it just takes time….

If I can do it, then you can do it….
      I promise

Please don’t worry, stop reading all the negative stories on here….
They will do you no good at all.
I was a couple of years older than you when I started with t…. And like you I was frightened 1995…. But eventually it faded into the background, and life went on…..
      Try and stay calm
      Immerse yourself in positivity
