@Autumnly Thats a good idea - a disagree button sounds much better then a dislike one.

If there was a disagree button, I would disagree with 96 percent of people on this forum.

Just yesterday I replaced every toilet seat in my house with ones that don’t slam. I didn’t know these existed until yesterday. The seat slowly closes silently. I only needed one new seat, but I ended up buying one for every toilet in the house.

The brand is Church. I got them at Lowes in the US. They call the feature “Whisper•Close”

Did you get a spike from it? Did it go back to baseline? I got a cold more than 2 weeks ago and my tinnitus has been relentless ever since even though I got over the cold more than a week ago

@computerguy but how do we decide the initial measurement distance. If it says 1 meter away for a car horn does that mean at 2 meters it is 6db less? how do we know how far the initial distance is for halving?

The initial measurement distance in the car horn scenario would be the distance from the car horn itself (I would assume it is somewhere behind the grill of the car) to the sound measurement device. Therefore this distance could be roughly estimated as the distance from the car grill to the dB meter.

Ha, I work for the largest podcasting start-up of the Netherlands, but as it is, I just recently got to tolerate sounds again, and worry too much about my T. I do marketing, but obviously know a little thing or two about it, but I’m struggling enough with my own work as it is. So thanks for the tag, DD, but for now I’ll need to pass :(.

I've used Audacity in the past and it's extremely intuitive, so if anyone does have the knowledge that Markuu mentions but hasn't used Audacity, don't be put off. I don't have any audio skills at all, so unfortunately can't help there. However, happy to help in any other way, maybe by transcribing the podcast once it's done...

And use multiple browsers (explorer, firefox, chrome)! We're going to need some new recruits if we make it to later rounds, definitely some organized efforts going on out there.

I dont know why it is so hard to get people here to do something as simple as voting. smh
