Hugs to you @MadeleineHope .. it is such an awful feeling to have this condition that is out of our control, and then to feel like we cannot control our environment. It just puts our nerves and brains on edge even more.

@Jupiterman Oy, so sorry you're dealing with the digital sensitivity too. It really does make things a lot more challenging. Do you get pain (e.g., burning) too?

I didn’t get pain but was very uncomfortable, like an allergic reaction.

@Jupiterman What symptoms do you experience? I start getting ear fullness, which then quickly progresses to burning.

I feel like I have jaw issues (dullness). No issues with custom ear plugs.

To be honest, I've never had the TMJD treated, because while it could make things better, there's always that small risk it could make things worse, so I choose to stick where I am.

In any case, I don't think TMJD exercises or mouthguards etc. are going to make a whole lot of difference to whether your customs work/fit or not.

To add, the customs have no impact on my TMJD whatsoever. The level of comfort has always been the same, even with ever worsening TMJD.

Oh, gosh. I'm sorry you have this fire alarm/smoke detector speaker looming over you. At least, it's kinda rare that they would go off spontaneously or by mistake. I know there are fire alarms that make an announcement before they go off. Maybe that would be a good option, so you have time to react. It's against the law here too to now have it, and fire department actually came by to check it couple of weeks ago lol

I know. It's a horrible thing to go through. Really makes you worry about the future. Do you believe most people can recover from H? It's scary that some people seem to have no improvement over a long period of time. I keep wondering why some people get better and others don't. I guess it's similar to recovering from a concussion, where there is really no explanation for why some people heal fully and others don't.

I'll keep checking for your messages from time to time. I'm trying to read the forums less and work on the mental aspect of it :)
