My new oscillating tone isn't loud, but it's very annoying! Mirtazapine working, but don't take it everyday as I always put on weight on it! Dec 7, 2021 at 7:49 AM

Need more than 140 characters! Last of my rant, will be looking into taking legal action against the NHS as they caused my T.

T is the loudest it's ever been today. Almost 5 months in and feel defeated. Three weeks ago had my best 2 T days, seems a lifetime ago now

Normally when I wake up my T is quieter than when I went to sleep. Last three days it's been just as noisy as when I went to sleep.

Good Tinnitus day today, usually that means a bad Tinnitus day tomorrow, hopefully that's not the case.

Anyone else's body clock messed up due to T? Luckily I'm still home working due to covid, can't ever imagine getting back to 9-5 grind.

The hardest part for me is going to bed early. I'm naturally a night owl, but the rest of the world is not. :-(

Good news - T in my right ear has been quieter. Bad news - T in my left ear has gotten louder. This is an emotional rollercoaster.

Question for UK readers, is it legal to drive wearing ear muffs/ear defenders?

I've never considered myself a religious person, but ever since getting Tinnitus in January I have been praying a lot.

When everything seems totally hopeless and all options are exhausted, it's the only thing we can do. Let's keep praying.

@Robster that is awesome! Reading Psalms is comforting too. I read one Psalm at night before bed so that my mind will be focused on good things before I go to sleep.

Wednesday and Thursday my Tinnitus didn't react to sound at all! Back to normal unfortunately Friday. Gives me some hope though.

Tinnitus in my left ear never reacts to sound, Tinnitus in my right ear is very reactive to sound. Anyone else have a similar situation?

        ASilverLight
Yep, but switch the ears around. Right ear barely ever reacts, left ear reacts and fluctuates like crazy.

I got the vaccine because I am high risk for hospitalization with Covid. Would I have gotten the 2nd shot had I known of the side effects with vertigo, dizziness, louder tinnitus? I probably would not. The vertigo and dizziness have been a challenge.

@twa & @Steph1710 sorry to hear of your bad experiences with the vaccine. It's almost damned if you do, damned if you don't as covid also can exacerbate tinnitus as well as the other damage it can do. I'm thinking maybe just get the one shot and hope for the best.

      1. GBB

Yup - mostly low noise like fans, wash/dryer/ or rain noise. It will take my T from a low drone to a high flash bang grenade noise if I watch brown noise on youtube.

I've noticed that a day out with road noise, people talking loudly in public, random loud noises (sign blew over and crashed to the ground), all contribute to louder days the next day. The good thing is that I can control the volume on the tv. In the outside world I cannot control people laughing loudly, etc.

True, I'm not sure if it's the level of sound, but rather the type of sound in regards to the TV making my tinnitus louder.

You will slowly get to the point where you do not do that any longer. I did that for few (3-4) months after the onset, but at some point I started losing interest. Now I am mostly bothered, but at least I do not measure it every few minutes like I used to.

I used to, but mine changes so frequently, there’s no point. I just try to ignore it and carry on. Focusing on it definitely makes it louder for me. Gotta try push that sh*t to the back of ya mind.

Yes! I absolutely do! It is the one things I’ve done from the onset of my T & mild H. My car is 20 years old and very loud. I do have another car which is very quiet, and occasionally I don’t wear plugs whilst using it. However, plugs protect from loud sounds like motorbikes ripping past, or people beeping horns, playing loud music etc. I would always wear them.

I have been wearing ear plugs apart from once while driving. Will continue to do so as you can't predict what others on the road will do. Unfortunately there are alot of loud idiots out on the road.

MRI was for headaches on and off for 2 months. The headaches stopped a week before MRI (longest period without a headache since they started). Nearly didn't go to MRI as covid situation was really bad in January in the UK, allowed myself to be talked into going. Irony is the MRI was all clear and the headaches never came back.
