@RunningMan First off my condolences for you in having your early 2000s experience ruined by this fking condition. my question brother is in the 20 years of having this do you think WE have made more progress and closer to a cure or is it the same run ole around?

I'm on the tail end of career which was something I was looking forward to moving onto retirement until these last 15 months. Now, day by day struggle, sometimes going to work after 2 or 3 hours sleep and anxiety/depression of different degrees everyday.

I'm hopeful of course for a cure ore better treatment, but I'm not optimistic for anything soon, so I don't follow all the research threads too closely. I try to focus on the near term and what I can do to make my life easier now. But not much luck, yet, over this last year.

@RunningMan Your story not only scares me but proved my point. alot of delusional tinnitus downplayers not on this forum but on other forums with a wider audiences act like tinnitus cant ever get worse and is a mind thing LOL.
I myself had my tinnitus got bad but either it went away or i got used to it but it for sure was a change. my fear is it getting to the next level bad and never going away

I'm more sensitive to any complaining or bad news, etc. these days. Because of the anxiety/depression caused by this condition, it makes it more difficult to deal with routine things, routine everyday tasks, hearing bad news (even if it doesn't affect me directly), etc. Even tougher if something requires extra effort, but it varies depending how I'm feeling any particular day. Hoping it gets better.
