@MaxRabbit thank you :). I wear my 20-25db plugs out and about, shopping, driving etc.My ears hate foams and push them out so these are the next best thing. Reactive flared up a week ago in my left ear and annoys me at night as it seems to react to low frequency noise hmm. Hearing therapist on Wednesday so I'll hopefully get me info off them. Hope you are keeping well and the best you can? :-).

@MaxRabbit Hanging in there. How have you been? I’m on week 2 of this ‘spike’ or whatever it is. My morse code is going crazy and will not let up. I wear plugs only when I know I’ll be around loud noise. Sometimes on the bus. I react to low level noises most. I notice quiet things in my house cause it. I do think I have TTTS or something similar.

It felt like I was in a fun house. Everything was going sideways. I couldn’t walk straight. Took like 2 hours to calm down. I’ve had an episode or two before but more mild. I wonder if it’s related. I wanna try those maneuvers for ear crystals..

Weirdly and amazingly the first week and a half of school T was super low. Maybe even the lowest it’s been. Could have been distraction and just my perception of it. But since Thursday it’s been back up doing it’s usual BS.. I was really happy for a bit there thinking I was habituating. Thursday I had another CBT intake appointment. Maybe the stress and talking about T and anxiety caused it to roar.

I hope you’ve found some relief.. something that helps. I drink chamomile and lavender tea every night. Not sure if it does anything, but I think it’s helping me stay calm and sleep.

@MaxRabbit Yeah for sure. I usually take B12, ACV, and curcurmin and turmeric- added taurine today and in a few days will add l theanine. I really like my chamomile tea with honey at night. Recently got some with lavender and matcha green tea with lemongrass which apparently are all good for anxiety. I even got lemon balm lol. Throwing the whole kitchen sink at it at this point.

@MaxRabbit I guess they’re hard to get here too as out of all the doctors I’ve seen, none mentioned steroids even as a possible option. My family doctor basically threw in the towel for anything related to T as he says it’s up to the ENT. So the CT scan and CBT and everything else I’ve manage to get on my own without a referral.

I dont know why ENTs arent always offering injections asap. You can sign a risk waiver and decide yourself to do it.But to never offer or refuse it (like my ENT did) is sealing the fate for people who could otherwise have relief. Its nuts while other states you just pay a fee, no hearing test required, and its done.

@Wrfortiscue Does that one come and go for you too? I honestly think I’d habituate and be fine with my normal baseline, so I’m hoping this will sort itself out eventually. Especially since it’s not constant. Unless it means it’s coming and staying for good. Which would be awful. Haha same. I got desperate and shoved qtips in thinking I could maybe stop the spasm. Just made my ear hurt for a few days.

ok that's good that you are taking magnesium as well as warning your family members! You should get musicians earplugs, they only lower the volume, so you still get clarity of sound. They are good for if you are watching live music etc, or just to wear in general. I use the Music Safe by Alpine earplugs.

@Steph1710 Thanks. Very possible! I’ve heard of that happening to many people. Online it does say once you stop taking the medication tinnitus should slowly fade. Has that been the case at all for you?

@SamRosemary unfortunately not. I’ve had my T for 2.5 years now. BUT, I cope and live with it just fine. The trick is not to let it take your life away. X

Oh that’s great. Sounds like you’re habituated.

    Hey everyone!

I’m a 30 year old female from Canada. I have a 7 year old son. I’m a PSW- Personal Support Worker and nursing student. I enjoy adventures, crafts, painting, camping, the lake, reading, and I’m really into movies. I used to be a huge thriller/horror fan, but since Tinnitus and anxiety I keep it pretty mellow. Michael Myers is still my main man tho. Halloween is my favourite holiday and I love October and fall. Im really into rock, grunge, alternative, and open to any and all music! I have a very small, but tight knit circle of family and friends that I am extremely grateful for. Last but not least- I’ve had tinnitus for 10 weeks and it’s flipped my life upside down. It’s constant, loud, and intrusive. Just trying to stay as positive as possible and keep swimming. Happy ish to be here.
