Sounds crazy but I had two candles going in my room for several hours. I got distracted. My room is small with poor airflow plus soundproofing. Began feeling light headed, could barely walk. Left, thought I aired out enough for a few hours, went back to sleep. Got jolted awake after only an hour of sleep to ear and head spasms and a new tone. It's been roaring ever since.

My previous suspected nerve issues are bad too. Seems like it wouldn't be possible to do that much damage but here we are.

Were I not affilicted by T and H I would have called 9-11 immediately. But I couldn't risk them making things worse or not taking me seriously again. The price we pay. Just my luck.

Horrible... At least T is still new for you. Hopefully it will stabilize and you begin healing soon.

Thank you. I hope so too. I find it really scary that, due to my H, I've been keeping quiet and doing nothing. And yet the T just keeps on coming. I don't know if that means I'm just gaining more damage or what.

I think you are giving your body the best chance to heal.

Think that covid causing some folks to get T & H will make people start taking it more seriously and put more effort into treatment?

More research would be nice, but I doubt it's enough to move the needle.

Anyone start with H and then get T? Or are most folks here the ones who started with T and got H after?

I was missing music more than ever last night. Is it really impossible to ever enjoy music again with H?

Welp after trying to bounce back from two separate H setbacks, I've had yet another. Car alarms seem to love going off whenever I'm around.

What actually damages hearing after H? Can my freaking 40 decibel fan be harming me? I can't believe how much this has progressed.

I've had a spike/new tone for the last few days now, seemingly out of nowhere. I was talking (whispering) with a friend at the time. I've had spikes and new tones from doing absolutely nothing as well.

Yeah I am a bit crazy with the muffs right now. My sleep schedule is a bit backwards lately so I've been mostly wearing the muffs to protect against my loud family if they are awake when I'm trying to sleep. If it's especially hot too, I wear them while I run my AC.

You might consider 3M 1100 earplugs. I have been wearing those to bed for years. Don't worry about that. As for spikes out of nowhere, a spike can begin 24 hours (or even more) after the exposure to noise... Don't worry about the spike that has already lasted a few days. Temporary spikes can last for over 3 months, but should begin fading after 4-6 weeks.
