Can you have high pitched electrical tinnitus with hydrops or menieres? Or is that just low? ETD maybe? Just trying to figure things out Jul 26, 2021 at 5:53 AM

Left ear tone evolving more to a high pitch hiss. Is this evolving or worsening? It’s uncomfortable lol

If it's more uncomfortable, then I'd consider it a worsening, since it's perception that ultimately determines how we handle it. But in terms of progression, it's widely considered that a change to a hiss indicates healing or a step in the right direction.

@Stacken77 yeah it’s just so high pitched electrical now. I think my left ear faint buzz noise follows the spikes for my right ear. When that spikes the left ear turns up

T seems slightly louder but I’m listening for it. Metal dropping and making everyone gasp was pretty loud.

No, I don’t think so. My T spikes from all sounds, sounds as low as the crumbling sound of paper, and it stays elevated for the of the day. Always falls back though, even if the exposure is to something louder than paper

@Steph1710 thanks for reaching out. My T is basically 3 tones. Ringing in both ears which isn’t bad because it’s similar to my old T. Then 2 tones, oscillating pitch in my right and extremely high frequency eee eee eee in my left that flatlines all the times into a static tone then starts again intermittent. High frequency is very faint but I can feel it sometimes.

If it helps, the first 6 months, I had all sorts of new tones and changes to my T. However, like everyone said, they settled down - I mean I have multi-tonal T, but all those tones stay the same, and don’t fluctuate anymore.

@danielthor @Diesel I have like 4 tones. Left ear has a faint squeaking tone that sometimes changes to an electrical flatline noise. Was maybe a 4-5 a month after onset and then everything improved for weeks. All of a sudden I had a spike and now the squeaking is louder. Seems like the tones keep evolving slowly just not in a favorable way lol

Some people see improvements by going monk-monk. monk-mode is generally not recommended though, because you’ll risk getting hyperacusis. I’ve been thinking a lot about this, and I think This type of hyperacusus is 100% psychological. I recommend going monk-mode for a period of time too see if it makes a difference. If you find yourself sensitive to sounds all of a sudden, you know why and you can override it.

[2/2] Get a few hours each day where your ears can hear sound. It doesn't have to be loud or moderate, just let them hear sound. I fear that my problem is that I've protected for 24/7, hence broken my dynamic range, making me more sensitive to higher frequencies. By ensuring the ears get some time without hearing protection in our homes, hearing the ambience, we may fix this problem.

        Take care,

But I can't stress enough that everyone's case, in terms of progression and treatment, is different. Some may need to completely rest their ears, while others may need to expose themselves to sound in order to improve. Don't take my words for definitive guidelines, but rather test the waters and see what works for you. I believe the above applies to my case, and maybe or maybe not yours.

        All the best.
