My ears start to pop and crackle when I talk too much. Never happen before hyperacusis. Any explanation for this? Sep 13, 2021

Sounds like ETD, or fluid trapped in your Eustachian Tube.

Try steaming with a decongestant oil (like Olbas), and maybe put some on your pillow at night. Also menthol chewing gum helps.

Zfire, I go back tomorrow to get another load of stuff including my millions of supplements. If you are still interested I'll give you the list. The question really is what DONT I take?! I think I read you live in NYC. My god!! I can't imagine!! Bless you. Can you move? A peaceful place upstate maybe? Hugs

Zfire, a few weeks ago you asked me which nootropics I take. I'm so sorry I'm just now responding. I've been desperately trying to find a new place to live because the road noise at my place was literally killing me. The area I wanted to move to is about 70 miles away so it was alot of back and forth and then I found a quiet place !!!!so then I was busy moving.

Getting away from the noisy road right next to where I live is something I've been dreaming about for ages. Congrats on taking action and moving house to a place that suits you better!

That's what earplugs/ear defenders are for my friend.

Sad state of affairs when one has to wear ear protection in their own home. For the record, I did have my ear muffs on most of the day, but it still seems like it didn’t help. I’m spiking hard right now…this is all distressing… hearing weird stuff and it it’s very loud

Funny you say this, I've got a similar situation in my apartment at the moment. Last 2 nights some kind of really deep bass has been travelling through the entire building and I can hear it, even through my best ear defenders.....

        Sh*t's f*cked.

I live in a really noisy city, so it’s actually hard to avoid noise. I have to plug my ears a lot at home because of constant sirens, planes.

Bad: Tinnitus is unstable. Every week it constantly changes in tones. Good: I believe nortriptyline is helping my pain H. Not loudness :(

Tinnitus and hyperacusis brutal today. My ears can pick up sound from miles away it seems. Lived in NYC all my life….now I want to leave.

@ZFire Yeah, the volume is just cranked up to insane limits. I really want to settle down in the countryside. Hopefully I can hold down my job so I can make it happen someday.
