What's the effect of sugar on you?

  1. Sugar spikes my tinnitus, and fruits spike my tinnitus as well

  2. Sugar spikes my tinnitus, but fruits do not spike my tinnitus

  3. Sugar doesn't spike my tinnitus

I'm going to try adjusting my diet a bit to cut out processed sugars because I think my tinnitus spikes after I eat stuff like cake or ice cream. I want, however, to keep putting mangos and blueberries in my morning smoothies because that stuff is really good for you.

For those of you who get sugar related spikes, do you avoid fruits? Do you find that fruits gives you spikes?

For sure, if I eat too many carbs, or fried food, my tinnitus spikes. I am type 2.

If my BS is above 200, it is noticeable. I am usually between 110-170 during the day.

I do eat apples and stone fruit for some carbs in the late morning and afternoon. But that’s about all the carbs I consume. About 50 gr a day. I find an apple raises my BS about 20 pts. Almost 1-1, because an apple is about 20 carbs.

Forget bread, rice etc. I’m finally eating as I should have all along. Not worth it!

A poll got added? Huh. Okay! I was looking more for direct advice, but that works too.

I'd be interested in this as well. In fact what foods should be avoided? When we say sugar are we talking about simple sugars or are we including complex carbs?

Yes, like I've heard that people find some comfort from cutting out white bread.

So what do you eat on a typical day? All fat and protein?

I cut out things like cake, candy, and ice cream. I keep all kinds of fresh fruits in my diet. If you suspect inflammation somewhere may be contributing to your T, some anti-inflammatory fruits like pineapple and watermelon (I think) may help you. I eat pineapple most days at breakfast.

I've been a type 2 for 12 years. I am not overweight and swim a mile per day. But it's taken this long for me to get strict about carbs because of tinnitus.

So as I said, I eat a few apples or peaches per day, and generally no carbs two meals a day. So turkey bacon in the AM. Steak, fish, or chicken with veggies at night. Never fried food, bread, rice etc. If I’m in a rush, I’ll eat a kind brand power bar from a gas station etc. Also, beer kills my tinnitus as well, but 1-2 glasses of wine actually takes the edge of it. But anymore and it’s blaring the next morning.

You lose all cravings for sugar after a few weeks of eating clean. We should not be putting 95% of the garbage sold in stores in our bodies anyway. I’m down from 225 to 210 in a two months and I am 6’4”.

You must eat though, if I miss a meal, my BS actually spikes and the tinnitus is worse.

Why no fried food? So you eat in total just 2 meal a day? I can't imagine eating next to no carbs. Are things like oatmeal Ok?
