Hey there! I'm a 25-year old who's been living with cricket monsters for a few years now.
My ringing's stronger in my left ear ...which is pretty strange as my music sources are usually from my right.

I don't think I listen to music loud enough to cause deafness. I've known people who play brain-exploding loud music but they're fine so I'm kinda envious ahahaha x___x... but who knows, maybe I did unconsciously listen to absurdly loud music at some point.

I had my ears checked back in 2008, and my hearing was normal. It's sort of worse now so I went to see a specialist some days back. No comment on hearing but I was given Betaserc. And err... it did the opposite of what I hoped it to do, so I stopped after a day of dosage... I'm not sure if that was the right thing to do but I couldn't work while feeling like the world is spinning.

My health isn't exactly great. I get dizzy spells quite often and my hair is thinning:(. I think it's mostly due to late nights, sleep deprivation, stress and maybe my consumption of sweets xD ... Guessing it all plays a part in feeding pet crickets.

Oh well, that's my little introduction. I hope to chat around with fellow cricket keepers so I don't go insane alone and hope you'd pardon me if I type like I'm on drugs or if I suddenly transfigure into a squid or something. :wacky:

Hi. Not sure from your post if you are male or female. But I know hair thinning in females in sometimes linked to low levels of thyroid (hypothyroidism). Have you ever had your thyroid hormones checked? Hopefully the medicines used to treat hypothyroidism are not ototoxic (not sure if they can cause or make tinnitus worse- you might want to research that if you find out you are hypothyroid)

Hi Emma. I'm female. Gotta go have it checked sometime soon. I'll keep your note about ototoxics in mind. Thanks!

      Hi Juri!

I thought my head noise was crickets too... about a thousand of them! :) Mine kind of lightly pulses with my heartbeat though.

Emma may be right ... it wouldn't hurt to check it out.

Meanwhile, I posted not too long ago about natural remedies for balding. See the General Chat area.

      Nice to have you!

Hi Juri, I like the cricket-monsters description, of T. That sums up what I hear too. Crickets that never go away.
Anyway, hope your health gets better.

Oh dear... Sorry I haven't been posting. I don't think anything improved except that my hair loss problem got a bit solved, probably thanks to ditching my sulphate shampoo.

But really, thanks for the concern. It makes me happier. :3

my tinnitus got worse. Like now my right ear has a faint steamy kettle noise. But!! It doesn't feel that bad! I feel a little more balanced now that the volumes of both sides are about the same. I used to like, flick my head to the left, as if I would find a giant cricket if I do that or something.

I'm just back because I found out that dental health/procedures could be linked to T, and I just thought of sharing it and see if I can find any more information here.
