A Spanish clinic, treatment by radio frequency...
      62% success rate. Between 2000- 3000 euros.

      What do you think?

      https://www.ototech.es

This person is a famous presenter and artist in Spain who says he was treated at this tinnitus clinic, and that it works and he recommends it on Twitter to another famous Spanish film director who suffers from tinnitus.

"Ototech therapy consists of applying a low intensity electric current to the mastoid area (posterior area of the auditory pinna). By means of this current an increase of the temperature of the zone that produces a metabolic stimulus and a regenerative effect of the affected tissues is achieved."

"The effectiveness of this treatment lies in the stimulation of inner ear cells that are damaged. Through the application of different algorithms (electric waves) the metabolism of these cells is activated, achieving their regeneration, recovery of the original morphology and the healing or improvement of the symptomatology."

If this works, then Frequency Therapeutics is wasting time. It seems the typical "miraculous" clinic that is usually seen on TV.

that guy does seem to look like he is really happy.

I wish our so called "tinnitus associations" would get off their asses and investigate this sort of stuff.

It sounds excellent, but why are not they super famous?

Cochlear Transmastoid Electrostimulation has been shown to be an effective therapy for the diminution or disappearance of the perception of tinnitus, by means of an improvement in the physiology of the organ of Corti that leads to an increase in hearing thresholds.

There are multiple causes that can be responsible for the appearance of tinnitus. The first treatment to apply depends on these causes. However, only in 5% or 10% of cases is the responsible pathology known, and in most of them there is more than one *.

Until the appearance of the Transmastoid Cochlear Electrostimulation there was no treatment for this 95% or 90% remaining that would mean a total cure or a significant improvement of the tinnitus.

The effectiveness of this treatment lies in the stimulation of inner ear cells that are damaged. Through the application of different algorithms (electric waves) the metabolism of these cells is activated, achieving their regeneration, recovery of the original morphology and the healing or improvement of the symptomatology.

Therefore, it is considered a pioneering therapy that through its advanced radiofrequency technique has been able to achieve the therapeutic recovery of a pathology, until today, considered practically incurable.

The science doesn’t sound very convincing in that it is well established that inner ear cells cannot regenerate (outside of Gene Therapy or Stem Cell based methods, which this is not). If this works then it is through serendipity and the writers do not understand the science. On the balance of probabilities it seems more likely that this does not work than it does. Nevertheless, best wishes and best of luck to anyone who does try this.

well first off you left out pathway signaling, and how do we know that cellular pathway signaling can't be accomplished with resonant EMF? Instead of us sitting around squabbling about it why aren't people that have the means investigating this for us?

I have spoken with the clinic. The treatment consists of 15 stimulations, the optimal is twice a week. The price is 120 euros per session one ear, and 180 euros per session, in both ears (15 minutes per ear) - I have sent twit the presenter and the film director, to inform me, even without answer. It is rare that nobody has investigated it, but it is true that they have many videos with supposed patients.

Radio waves can in fact be used to trigger cellular signaling pathways.

      https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2267311/

      this is amazing and terrifying.

If we could isolate the resonant frequency of WNT and notch1 then maybe we could use that to trigger regeneration of our haircells without drugs.

I would love to see a clinical study that reproduces their treatment in the context of a scientific process (double blinding, control group, etc...) - because they do claim their legitimacy from a host of existing studies that are a bit tangential to what they are doing.

I couldn't see anything in pubmed that matched the keywords they provided. The links they provide to studies end up in a "404 Not found" status too, which isn't super reassuring.

It's certainly nice to see original ideas being executed though.

This video can shed some light:

It does remind me a bit of the "electromagnetic headphones" that @Michael Leigh uses (and claims some amount of success with).

Well ... at least I could talk to the doctors in my mother language. Lol

If it really works, it should spread throughout the world. Like the hair recovery clinics. But I doubt

He also states that after the treatment there is an average increase in auditory capacity of 10 dB ... will it be possible?

Again, without a properly conducted study, it's only his word you have to trust or not trust.
10 dB is nice, but it's close to the margin of error on hearing tests, which is why you need lots of samples to ensure that it is statistically significant: a true 10 dB improvement would be very good.

Also, your messages include quotes translated in Spanish, but without the proper syntax to appear correctly. It seems the translation messes up the markdown.

Ok now Im starting to believe this treatment. Two high profile individuals that have claimed they've been "cured".

Do you think they may been paid to make these bold claims?
