      In this thread
      https://www.tinnitustalk.com/thread...itus-in-our-dreams-and-why-it-is-a-clue.5721/
I read that people often do not perceive their tinnitus while asleep. Within that thread, the discussion was controversial, so I thought maybe we can have a poll:

How often do you hear your tinnitus in your dreams?

I heard my tinnitus in my dreams twice, for now. But only when I had an acute hearing loss, which I have every now and then.

      This is an interesting question.

Weirdly sometimes if I have music on, just at the cusp of falling asleep, I have noticed that I stop hearing it momentarily (when still partially conscious). I remember this because I often wake myself up quickly when I start to snore and hear the music again. Maybe a clue there.

I don’t ever remember hearing my T in my dreams when I was suffering from it. In fact I used to wake up and for the first few seconds didn’t notice my T. It’s only when I searched to see if it was still there, it would come back in it’s full glory!

On similar lines to a post I have just put on a thread about depression actually.

This is exactly what happens to me, too. Just as you wrote, when I am about to loose consciousness and am aware of it, my tinnitus goes away to complete silence (but also all other sounds).

It has never happened in 19 years. At least not that I'm aware of.

I have on the other hand believed myself hearing it being silent for a second or two moments after I wake up.

I don't hear it in my dreams (I have to say that I don't hear it all day either though, only in quiet environments) - but I am aware I should be careful of loud noises when dreaming. It happened I woke up in panick after a loud noise in my dream, fearing it would damage my ears more.

This DID happen to me when i had a spike and it was LOUD at night. i would dream there was a fire alarm going off. Other times it just woke me up very early and made it impossible to fall asleep again.

I have never heard or remember hearing my tinnitus in my dreams.

But once in a while I will have the "doorbell" ring that wakes me up. I mean it actually sounds like someone rang the doorbell at 3:00 am. I hear a loud distinct ding-dong. Weird. But no one hit the doorbell.

I never hear tinnitus in my dreams but that may be because I do not look for it. The few dreams I remember all always negative and crazy, so tinnitus is the last thing on my mind in my dreams.

If I am aware enough to look for it, it is there. Usually I'm too deep into dream land to think about it.

I answered never because I'm new to this and I don't have/remember many dreams. But, I had a dream last night and I covered my ears when something loud happened. This was probably influenced by the T. Literally the only thing I remember about the dream. Didn't technically hear the T in the dream though.

When mine first started I dreamed that my tinnitus was so loud that I was driving to the hospital! I woke up from the nightmare and my tinnitus was super loud!

I don't think I actually hear it while I sleep, but tinmitus itself has been the subject of many dreams. I've been having anxiety dreams since long before I acquired this, so it doesn't surprise me that my subxonacious would latch on to something that has brought me so much stress.

I get bad fleeting tinnitus that lasts for hours at a time and if an episode starts in my sleep sometimes in my dream I'll start to hear the ringing, although in my dream state I usually perceive it as an external noise (e.g. an untuned radio) and don't realise it is coming from my own brain, until it gets loud enough to actually wake me up. I never hear my 'baseline' tinnitus in my dreams though.

No. I have heard masking sounds in my dreams. For ex., when I played rain sounds, I had a dream of taking a shower and was a bit confused for a second when I woke up. The type of music I play also impacts my dreams. I use the Calm app and sometimes the music sounds sad, so I end up having a sad dream.

Never. thank G*d. It's early days yet - I pray it continues. I look forward to my dreams for that reason.

I never hear it in my dreams. (only 7 months now) in fact I am remembering my dreams more, because I enjoy the total silence between words and during actions. my dreams are great. its the only time. the screaming tinnitus starts instantly upon awakening.

I get fleeting tinnitus shooting out of my ears loud enough to be heard in the next suburb during a bad dream.. I hear it inside the dream and then it wakes me up.

Had a nightmare last night, you know, things chasing you and you are losing ground, adrenaline pumping. Afraid and no way out. Then I woke up and this tinnitus is screaming in my brain. And suddenly I was in another nightmare I would not wake up from. And I missed the quite in the nightmare.
