Poll: Permanent Spikes After Noise-Induced Tinnitus

I just experienced a mild spike after a (second) loud noise event.
A feeling of earfullness on my previously good ear appeared 2 days ago, I noticed some ringing in that ear and its still there. The initial noise exposure I had was 5 months ago. I am considering my options here and hoping it goes down. I have some pred lying around and am seriously considering taking it.

I am thinking of buying a pair of exeptionally good earplugs and wearing them all day just so my tinnitus does not spike permanently at a future date.

I am wondering what amount of people on this forum with noise-induced tinnitus have had a further increase in volume since they started having tinnitus in the first place.

 

Your choices only allow noise exposure as a cause of tinnitus worsening. In this way, the survey has a basic assumption that does not have to be correct.

 

I was wondering about the specific noise induced subsection of people with T over here and if in nearly all cases it does worsen because of extra noise exposures during the following years.

 

Many sufferer with probably noise induced tinnitus have worsening after ototoxic drugs, dental work, whiplash injury, unknown cause, presbyacusis and so on. Where should they make their cross?

 

I was just wondering about the noise induced tinnitus and in what amount specifically 'further noise trauma' would up the volume. Allright, its an idea to make this a very broad poll. Its a bit late (thus impossible) to add 10 more checkmarks to the poll now.

 

Hi, mine stayed about the same. Maybe slightly increased.

 

Tnx for the response, seeing the results here and reading the many stories on this forum I will lean towards overprotection of my ears from now on. A family member of mine (who is really old) also had a fair increase, so thats another vote, but he will never know about this site and also is fine as is, sleeps fine and has no issues even thow he has it really loud he told me.
