      Tinnitus Since:
      07/2014
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Acoustic Trauma (I think)
I went to a club the other night and naturally opted to wear my earplugs. I had a great night and we were there for probably 3.5-4 hours.

Got home and I had very loud tinnitus which went away the next morning leaving only my usual sounds left (which was obviously a relief). But why did I have temporary T if I was wearing earplugs that were absolutely in correctly because the sound of people talking, the music etc was muffled.

Also as a quick question, last night I was woken by my T which had got so damn loud for no apparent reason, the hissing was unbearable although I quickly got back to sleep. In the morning it got much quieter again? Like what the hell, why does it do this? Haha

      Thanks

Did you deviate from normal sleep patterns?, did you drink alcohol?, were you anxious about being on a club at 100db?

I went out too, plugged of course, but the sum of all that, plus the exposition to 95-105db may have been the cause of increased Tinnitus. It's hard to say. Probably the sound alone, even plugged, increases Tinnitus over time. I have the feeling that you lose hearing without noticing up to a point, and then you get T, and after that every decrease in hearing is more noticeable. It's sad cause I would like to go out more, but I don't think it's safe for me. Restaurantes are OK, but clubs are not. Sometimes, it's stepping through the door, feel the bass on my stomach and walk back.
