      Tinnitus Since:
      20 years or so
      Cause of Tinnitus:
Not sure but I do have hearing loss
I just turned 50. I am sure that there was a time I did not have it, maybe, I thought it was normal not to have silence.

It is an equal between both ears, in stereo. It is like but not a constant sssssssss or like static from a tv, on the higher side. Hard to pin point the sound. It is louder than the music or tv I listen too unless I am in my car and I turn up the sound to distract me from the sound. I think it might be worse now or I am paying more attention to it, if that make sense?

Had hearing tests down and they said it looks like my ears, specially the right one suffered trauma. I was asked if I shoot rifles. That's a definite no. I asked if it could be from music, because I allows loved loud music. They didn't this so. Not the way it's charted. Doesn't matter the why, I have it. I think I have just learned to accept.

They gave me hearing aids to try and I heard silence for about 30 minutes and then it came back quick. I cannot stand the hearing aids. I just want to rip them off.

So I thought I would come here and see what was being posted.

I saw websites that have premade sounds of what some tinnitus sounds like for some people. Is there something out there where you can play with the sounds yourself to try and create the sound? Kind of like a mixer?

Some people don't understand this phrase that I talk to, silence is deafening but I sure do. Time to peruse the posts and see what I can learn.

Welcome to the forum. Many Apps on phone download can do some simple mixing of sounds. There are also websites with sound mixing ability.
