Tinnitus Louder Than Ever After a Family Argument Before Thanksgiving

I had a family argument a few days before Thanksgiving and now my tinnitus is louder than ever, add to that, I have a new very high pitch tone in my right ear when it has never been in that ear.

Is this my new normal? Is it a spike?

This time of year by head gets stuffy due to the weather and I take pseudoephedrine to clear my congestion but at this point I am afraid of taking anything.

I've had tinnitus for a little over 5 years and it seems to be getting worse. At 47, I can't see surviving this long term.

What are some safe, tried and true forms of relief?

 

First question is Yes for normal. Stress is likely the reason.

Everyone on here wants an answer to the second question. Just don't go to the extreme that I've read some have. You'll be alright.
