Mine is loud too today, maybe it because of my sore throat, and my ears are poping weirdly when I swallow.

Remember, Danny, you will go back down! This isn't a set back. Sometimes, tinnitus just fluctuates on its own. The worst thing you can do is give it your attention. I know, easier said than done. But find something relaxing to do and remember it will get better. And you will keep getting better!

Leah, are you seeing someone who can help you with your tinnitus? I'm not talking about an acupuncturist, but an audiologist. I see you live in Chardon. Is that close to Cleveland? The Cleveland Clinic has a tinnitus clinic, but I don't know about its costs.

If you have hearing loss, I'd recommend a hearing aid that incorporates sound therapy. If you don't have hearing loss, you might try to do sound therapy on your own. Neuromonics can be quite expensive and is not covered by insurance. The same is true with Serenade, ie, SoundCure. Besides sound therapy, I recommend treating your anxiety with either medication or something like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). There's information on all these treatments on TT!

I know Karen's been advising you, and she's the BEST on this board for information! I just thought I might add something.

Good luck and know we've all been there! And, believe it or not, you will get better and be back to normal. It just takes time and effort on your part to help yourself. Don't get discouraged!

Oh Jazz thanks so much, I love your words "you will get better and be back to normal".
Yes, I have contacted the Cleveland Clinic program, they will get back to me on Tues.
Actually I work there, Childbirth Educator. I know my stress is out of control, working on that too.
I do have an ENT and have been going to for years and having hearing tests with him etc.
The pitch I have now is usually one that would last just a few seconds but now it is "stuck".
Went last week and he told me nothing to be done. His nurse recommend acupuncture and an alternative health program. We shall see. Thanks for your post.:)

May I ask what sort of heart arrhythmia you have? I have a very undeveloped intuition-based hypothesis/broad concept relating tinnitus, disautonomia, anxiety, and vagal tone which can also be implcated in heart arrhythmias. I'm just curious to know what your situation is to see how it fits into this line of thinking.

Has stress and anxiety triggered your arrhythmia in the past? Did your tinnitus start during a time of anxiety and the active presence of your arrhythmia?

By the way, my ears are screaming today, too. Hope we both get some relief soon.

Interesting! Stress will get my arrhythmia going. .Bad T for a week equals stress. I can manage when T is mild to moderate but this attack is the worst, wish I could figure out the trigger.
As far as what kind of arrhythmia not sure I know. At hospital the ER doc was ready to do a heart catheterization to zap it back into rhythm, my own cardiologist arrived and saw low potassium ,taking diuretic (per ENT to help T) and gave me potassium tablets and and another heart med orally . Never had T to this level ever before and yes scaring me and has me very anxious. Viscous cycle, if I can answer any other questions please go ahead and ask, your theory has me curious. Off topic, where is spell check? Thanks

Not this time. Bad T then arrhythmia.
Thanks for your help and concern, hope it gets quite for you too.
