Had hopes that the setback from a few months ago may be calming a little. Had a few days of 8 out of 10 rather than 9 or 10. Until Friday. Aug 13, 2023

@ECP Due to a rare gastric issue, my GP advised me against taking NAC due to possible gastric side effects. Condition unfortunately impinges a lot on the meds I can/can't take, even supplements.

It's a shame you can't take NAC. I hope you can find something that works for you. Sending more hugs.

@AvidReader I hope someday you can read books in peace without T & H ruining it. If there was a cure and i took it, i would build a giant pillow fortress in my backyard and go to sleep for about a decade lol, man what id do for a good night sleep, followed by a morning of cartoons and cereal to start a non tinnitus filled day....

@KoolKat I'm from the UK. Halloween is not as big here (although it is getting more attention now). I did visit NY in the run-up to Christmas once & yes, it was magical. I loved it.

@KoolKat Yeah my tinnitus started 2005 but for 17 years it was moderate & stable. I could hear it but it wasn't overly intrusive & night-times were always the worst time but the best thing was that it wasn't reactive. It got worse in Feb 2022 just out of the blue. No noise-related injury or anything we can pinpoint.

@KoolKat 10 days of absolute hell with a fire alarm type siren in the right ear 24/7. Luckily it morphed into musical tinnitus, so I have hissing & tones in left ear & music & engine noise tinnitus in the right 24/7. Hyperacusis is also worse in the right ear. All of it is reactive. So its been bad for about 16 months now.

@AvidReader I find it crazy you had this since 2005, so i just wanted to say much respect for your perseverance. its disgusting they left us hanging to suffer with this for this long. i had this for a decade so yeah. anyway My question for you is do you think we are closer to a cure in 2023 than the last decades ? or are you not phased. whats your feelings on the whole tinnitus cure landscape.

Hi @KoolKat Thanks for your kind words. Thankfully the whole 15 years have not been as bad as the past 15 months have been.

I'm sort of walking the line on the whole cure thing. I'm hopeful but I'm not pinning everything on there being a cure sooner rather than later. Cautious optimism?!

Cute fuzzy bunny rabbits should be allowed to buy as many new books as they like; whether they've read/eaten their old ones or not!

Thankfully my bunnies allowed me to buy as many books as I wanted - as long as I got them apple snacks & the occasional carrot treat.
