Windowed White Noise therapy too, and yields better outcomes too (in the studies I've perused), but somehow the ACRN acronym sounds really good (it has a smart sounding name) so people seem to be more attracted to it.

idk if that has anything to do with it. What studies are you looking at, and what are they accomplishing? Are they actually reducing the tinnitus? If they are then I'll totally give it a go.

It seems to just be notched sound therapy.

You can try it here: https://tinnitusnotch.com

You can make it on your your own, you can or use https://www.audionotch.com they charge a bit but will do it automatically for you.

It would be interesting to find a meta analysis of the different techniques. ACRN is more common by the big companies selling you their product on an MP3 player. Neuromonics is doing a study at the moment - https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02829073?term=Neuromonics&recrs=abef&rank=1 though it should have been completed by now...

I tried playing the ACRN troughout the night while I slept, at very low volume of course....Don't know if it is coicidence, but my T is a little bit milder today.

There's a way to tell. Try doing it for a week. If the reduction is better and/or lasts the whole week you're doing it, then it's probably effective.

I will try that ;) It was probably a coincidence, but it is worth giving a try.

Probably but I hope it's not. Process of elimination will weed out the inneffective treatments, so hopefully it doesn't get weeded out.

I’m having trouble pinning my exact tones, I have 3 all together, a high pitched ring, a static like hiss and a morse code beep. I tried a genetic one off YouTube, played it for an hour and I don’t know if it’s the placebo effect but my tones seemed less angry (it only lasted about 10-15 minutes but it’s a start) The morse code doesn’t seem to be dominating all the other sounds now so I’ll see where it takes me.

@Jcb try one at a time.

this stuff really works for me, maybe because my tinnitus is so new, the first time I tried last saturday, only played for like 20 or 30 seconds on the default setting (which by the way matches my tinnitus) and i didnt hear my tinnitus for a few minutes after.

It was like my head was a radio and it disintonized from the tinnitus, after a few minutes I sintonized again I could hear it again...

i had a big spike the last few days and i think i was something i ate and it was a combination of hissing and ringing, so i used my 7700 notched file while sleeping and when i woke up the ringing was still intense, but after a few hours the ringing reduced in intensity as well as the hissing and i'm not sure if it was the notched file that helped or maybe a histemic reaction to the notched file sound as my ears feel a bit stuffy, but none the less i'm enjoying about a 20% reduction in that irritating ringing.

I chose the ones I think were the closest to my tones. I didn’t notice my tones completely disappear but they definitely reduced in volume especially the morse code beeps, but then after a few minutes they were back to their obnoxious volumes haha
I will keep at it and see where it takes me.
Glad it worked for you man, It’s always good to get that bit of light at the end of the dark tunnel and all that :D
Did you use headphones or play them through a speaker?

Hey there, I see here a topic of 28 pages about a very interesting matter, BUT I can't see anyone here with real results.

If this technique brings such hope, I'm surprised not to see anyone really trying the method seriously, I mean with a real schedule and customized with care.

Or maybe am I missing some posts?

Bonus question: is there an easy way to know where to follow this cure in his own country?

Compliance is a big issue with this treatment, since you have to listen to the tones for a couple of hours every day, for 6 to 12 months, before you can start assessing any kind of results.

Hello all dear friends! I have tinnitus after a cotton bud trauma since something like 10 years, it's not that invasive but lately I have had trouble sleeping since in quiet places I can listen the tinnitus...

I would like to try neuromodulation but I have two questions: which is the best (ACRN or Notch) and also I don't know if I should listen to it with both ears or just the affected one. If I start it I will post the results in the future here.

I got a couple emails that my ACRN web page was no longer working, and indeed, web protocols have evolved enough that it no longer works in certain versions of chrome.

I rebuilt the app using modern web libraries (React/Node), and now it works again. This time it will also work on mobile devices as well. I'm glad that its interesting enough that a few people are using it in some form.

      .

Hi, thanks for your help. Some feedback:

1 - It does not work in iOS in safari, thus all iPhone and iPad users can’t use this.
2 - It appears quite buggy in safari in Mac OS so often distorts it stops playing if you move away from the tab it’s open in.

      Thank you again

Looks awesome in this new design.
I just cant download the source and user it correctly. Cant find a homepage button that works like the old version.

I download it to use offline at home. Where should I click when I download the source to make it work properly?

      Thanks!!

You are awesome. I'm sure if you check your logs you will find my IP in there a ton :)
My tinnitus pitch is very high so I max out the frequency @ 15000. I feel as if my pitch is a bit higher than that. I have the source code save in case your site ever goes down, but I haven't tweaked with it. Is it possible to go above 15k?

Thank you generalfuzz for taking the time and effort to build and maintain this ACRN tool! I use it often, it seems to help me a bit.
To those asking how to to access the tool on a phone, I found an Android app called "Tonal Tinnitus Therapy" which appears to do the exact same thing as generalfuzz's tool. (The app has a week-long free trial then it's two dollars for a lifetime license, first app I ever bought lol). It does get a bit buggy occasionally, and I'm not sure if the app is available for iOS devices. But helps me a bit.
