      Cause of Tinnitus:
Loud gig/year of loud headphone usage.
I'm not sure about Reactive T, I'm pretty sure I don't have anything of the sorts.
I most probably have some sound sensitivity, everyone seems to have had it in the beginning of their T, but I'm a bit worried if it might be Ear Recruitment as that won't go away unlike the sound sensitivity.
Now I am still pretty sure my T will go and take the sound sensitivity with it, I'm young and without any real noise history so it should probably clear up, I also try to remind myself that I'm pretty early in and I have lots of time for the T to improve and go away all together.

I'm a bit confused about Ear Recruitment, I know you said it's a rapid growth in loudness for some sounds, I'm not able to hear some sound until it reaches a certain decibel level at which time that sound sounds much louder.
But would it be possible that from what I understand Ear Recruitment is when living cells act as cells for the ones that are damaged could that be the reason I hear sounds other people can't? the reason I'm doubting this is because these sounds I hear change and vary.

Take my PC the main sound generator at times I hear a ring at times I hear a low TV beep at times it's quite loud these are the times I'm worried/stressed/tired/angry and at times it can get really low when I'm relaxed/happy/neutral even/generally not paying attention to it.

For instance I hear it loud and clear and then I start reading something and I get really into it and when I'm finished with the reading it's quieter, yesterday out of the blue after waking up from a nap it was the quietest it has ever been, I was so happy and it stayed that way for a couple of hours, then today it's gotten a bit louder probably because my sleep is all fudge up, I slept 6 yours during the afternoon the finally went to sleep at 6-7 am only to wake up at 2 pm? this is probably making it worse ain't it?

So I was wondering could ear recruitment make some sounds really loud, but the cells that are normal would hear normal sounds louder? this would be the reason I hear beeps and rings and static a lot louder than I did before, I never heard my PC or TV ring before this.
Or seeing as how it's mostly only Tinnitus sounds could it be some hyperacusis with some phonophobia for Tinnitus sounds?

I just want to know if it's ear recruitment or not, I'm pretty sure it's all just stress plus the acoustic trauma has left my ears still "soar" if you will.

      Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your very good question.

And the answer is ... no.

Recruitment has nothing to do with sound sensitivity or decreased sound tolerance. LDLs (Loudness Discomfort Levels) in recruitment are normal unless the person with recruitment also has decreased sound tolerance due to hyperacusis, misophonia, etc.
