Well it seems to be that way. I have a slight sore throat but that's it. I don't understand why my ears keep getting clogged. The T gets worse every single time. I don't get why this is happening and I'm scared it will continue to happen until my T gets so unbearable. 3 weeks ago I couldn't hear it whilst driving, with friends etc but now I can and it's so frustrating.

Every time I get a slight symptom of a cold, my ears get really blocked up, and I can't pop them at all.

I read about ETD but my main worry is if this eventually gets infected. What could I do then? As it just seems an ear infection will inevitably make T worse? Anit-biotics will make it worse as will leaving it?

Seems like a lose lose situation.

      Any experiences?

      Thanks!

When I get sick my T goes through the roof. I have very small ear canals and also my ears create a ton of ear wax so I get blockages all the time. Very annoying. I end up doing cleanings using OTC ear wax removal kits (drops and flush bulb) which works pretty good but it still sucks. I get infections often but they are external and are from me constantly trying to clear out the ears. Anti-biotic/anti-inflammatory drops for that.

I've had T for a very long time after being up close and personal to an explosion in the military so I guess I'm used to it. It's annoying and it's gotten worse the past few years but in the grand scheme of things I don't let it get me down. Cancer sucks. Heart attacks suck. Tinnitus? I'll live. Wait for your cold to pass and then get in some work outs. When I'm sedentary my blood pressure goes up and my tinnitus is much louder. Same with being sick - increased blood pressure. Salty foods also are a trigger for me, again likely because it raises blood pressure.

I struggle with ear pressure. Mostly in my left ear where the T is much louder. It has lessened since the onset of T.

When your sinuses are discharging, your eustachian tubes can get mucus in them, which can create one kind of muffled sensation. If you have TMJ problems or muscle tension / posture problems (which can be triggered by anxiety), this can compress structures near the ear and cause another kind of muffled sensation.

Both of these sensations are annoying, both of them can make tinnitus seem more prominent than it is otherwise, but neither of them are dangerous.
