So? Nobody has succeeded yet. Don't read a fickle marketplace as evidence for this stuff. It's all on a hunch. Same goes for frequency. People think if the stock skyrockets or goes up that there's inside information out there that someone got a hold of and they know it works. Which is a falsehood.

As I keep saying over and over, we all don't know SHIT until the scientific evidence is published. And even then, until the drug is on the market and really being used.

Neuromod and this is shit. No one hears anything about this fucking shit.

People have screaming tinnitus. My tinnitus is something like 70 FUCKING DECIBELS and I would do anything to go back and live life again to see if I could avoid this, to preserve my hearing.

I don't see anyone getting help here or just a small minority. No one with severe tinnitus anyway. It's fucking useless.

This hasn't been released yet. How do you know how many people it will help? They are still conducting trials.

I get it. I also feel like my hearing stuff is so unique, what helps others won't help me.

I feel for you, @PeteJ but i think some brilliant minds are working towards helping us. Hang in there.

I hope this stuff will work for you too. If you still can hear, then it might have a chance.

Even if not these signals specifically, the same concept might be able to be used to develop a treatment for you eventually..

      Hi,

I don't think Fast Track status indicates anything about the drug's likelihood to succeed, only the seriousness of the condition. It's definitely good news that it got fast track status, because it means we can figure out if this is finally the jackpot or not. But the fact is still that most drugs don't make it through phase 3, and this one has yet to make it through phase 2, which means the statistic odds are against it actually succeeding.

Except they already saw early positive results from merely the safety study. Not exactly a variable past failures had.

Are they upping the dose for the Phase II trials? I know there's a potential for 4 doses, but I haven't seen anywhere where they say if the individual dosages will be larger. Normally in Phase I studies they test a really high dosage to ensure there are no negative effects, but I didn't get that vibe from what I read on this drug.

That usually goes for every drug that hits the Phase 2 mark. If a drug doesn’t show early positive results, it wouldn’t be at Phase 2. We’ve seen plenty of examples of drugs not being successful in later Phases. Hell, scroll back in this thread. This time last year everybody was over the moon about this drug being the drug for hearing loss. The holy grail. Now we already have to concede it will probably only work well for high frequency hearing loss >3500 Hz. Even Frequency is basically admitting that with that “designed for high frequencies” nonsense.

That's not so much the drug's fault and more the lack of a proper delivery method to reach the Apex though.

Since when? All they needed is to show some promise from from preclinical testing then safety from phase 1.

They also got funding from Astellas as well so I would think this drug will be successful.

A lot of drugs go through a Phase 1/2 first where efficacy is also tested.

Not denying that. In fact, that’s why the “designed for high frequency loss” is nonsense to me; it’s an excuse for not getting the drug in the entire cochlea. But regardless, the fact remains this drug will barely treat <3500 Hz as is. And that wasn’t the vibe on this thread a year ago. It’s just to show expectations can shift pretty rapidly regardless of previous positive results.

      Hi Jurger,

I seemed to have missed that statement by Frequency Therapeutics... my bad.

When and where did they say that “designed for high frequencies”?

      Thanks in advance.

You would think that Frequency Therapeutics would have excluded patients with hearing loss below 3500 Hz in the phase 2 trial if they didn’t think it would work in the lower frequencies. If they would have excluded it wouldn’t you think they would have had better results and a better chance at moving on to phase 3?

And all those other hearing loss restoration drugs also had early positive results from the phase 1/2?

I think it's bullshit. If it was such revolutionary progress, something would come out about it.

Plus, everyone is so different and the variables are all over the place.

But, there is nothing that indicates that anything out there will help.

Only if you believe the truth is that nothing will ever work when in fact that is not the truth. We already have evidence of it. If you want to keep gloating, keep it to yourself. Dragging others down with false negativity is not the way.

Settle down children. We're all stuck in fuckville together. But I have faith that genuine progress is being made. I really do.

Regardless of anybody's thoughts, what gives me hope is that there's several players in this tinnitus game who have strikingly similar methods of attack. The science is really honing in. It's just slow as hell.

In the meantime, I watch nature to give me a little peace.

I’m talking about drugs in general. There’ve been plenty of drugs that showed some efficacy at first only to fail in later phases. Come on man, leave your feelings outside for a second, assuming this drug will pass Phase 2a, 2b and 3 based on what we have now is a coping mechanism, and you know it.

Dude, they themselves are saying this about their drug, not me. As for excluding patients, why would they do that at this early stage? Maybe phase 2 paints a different picture, but right not they’re saying the drug will have a hard time treating loss <3500 Hz. It’s on their website.

      Cool, thanks.
I just wanted to know where to look. I shall have a look at there website again, right now.
This has never been done before in the history of human kind, I suppose having the goal posts shift is to be expected. Perhaps their knowledge will grow exponentially over the coming years....I sure hope so. If it does turn out to be high frequencies, a lot of people here would be happy as where that’s where they having hearing loss...
Wait and see , fingers crossed.
      Take care..

      Hi guy,

I just had a poke around the website, again, I couldn’t find the quote you referenced. They did say they would do a standard audiogram and a high frequency one, as well as word recognition tests, and tinnitus. Was that what you were referring to? I also couldn’t find, I am sorry, where they said it would have a hard time treating less than 3500 Hz.

Can you cut and paste a quote please, I just can’t find it... argghhhhh.

When you mentioned coping mechanism to ChrisBoyMonkey, I got the feeling of what you were saying, but it eluded me a little bit. Could you elaborate on what you are saying... were you saying we are clinging to FX-322 to give us hope from our affliction even though it’s an illusion and not viable?
