Has listening to binaural beats made your tinnitus worse; if it did, did it eventually return to baseline? I tried it for the first time and it made my tinnitus much worse. My tinnitus is now what seems multi-tonal at much higher pitches, louder, pulsating with odd sensations in my head. Going crazy and want to kick myself.

Has anyone had this happen as well? Did it eventually return to baseline? I looked for a thread pertaining to this issue but could not find one, so sorry for redundancy if it applies.

Haha yes I have once too made this mistake, any negative symptoms will usually fade within a few weeks. It's made worse if you experienced it through headphones.

Yes, unfortunately it was through headphones. Substantial negative impact... so pissed. Thanks for your input; it does make me feel better.

Update: The spike has gone down to a whisper at times. I'm on the 7th day of a 21 day fast and have seen an acupuncturist. Fasting has help considerably and I can honestly say the tinnitus volume dropped in the last 5 minutes of a 25 minute session (first visit). I have seen him twice and will be going again this Sunday. I have hope again! The fast is a result of the 5/2 diet spoke about on here as well as spiritual beliefs. I don't know which is providing a primary effect, but I don't care a this point. Should my tinnitus resolve before the conclusion of my fast, I'm surly going to go the distance in thanks! I'm praying for you all. Should any of you find yourself in need of prayer, simply shoot me a name by way of PM (no detail necessary). Thereyago.

Update: I'm 1.5 years out from said evil video and still not back to baseline. I'd love to try theta waves but way too Fu King scared to do so.

I was wondering if you ever found a solution to this induced worsening? In particular did your other worsened symptoms like the pulsating in your head ever resolve? Did you actively do anything to improve them? Sounded like acupuncture might have helped somewhat...

I ask because I have fallen for this gimmick and experienced pretty much the same worsening. Only been a few days but started out feeling so dizzy it was mad. I am so pissed off about this. I did only listen for maybe 5 - 10 minutes and it does seem to be getting gradually less severe (edging back towards normal) but still now it’s like any silence is filled with the ongoing resonant pulses. Agggh it makes me angry. It’s as frustrating as an itch on the inside of the skull.

Sorry, had not seen your post until now. My symptoms have not ever fully went away, but have gotten better. Unfortunately, the additional tone it created in my left ear has never gone away. I really think people posting these videos should take them down due the complete shit storm they can cause far, far outweighing the positive. I know I would.

Does anybody know why my ears would start ringing after listening to binaural beats?

I listen to it on the lowest volume and it is the only thing that clears my sinuses. Is it wrecking my hearing if it is on the lowest volume (I don't even turn it up enough to really hear it, and this didn't become a problem until the 6th or 7th time using it; now it's every single time.

How would it damage my hearing when all other science says that it doesn't?

And you have to use headphones in order for it to work, so this really sucks because it's the only thing that helps me breath, and I was so happy that I could breathe through my nose and sleep at night.

I tried it once and within a few minutes my tinnitus started changing pitch weirdly, so I quickly stopped and it settled back to its normal annoying but predictable whine. Sounds like I had a lucky escape - hope it settles for you.

I can't listen to anything on headphones for more than 10 minutes without feeling uncomfortable now (which means effectively I've stopped using my lovely new Sennheisers)

Sigh - I think I need to head for that Positivity Thread now.

I've listened to tons of binaural stuff using headphones.

It never helped my tinnitus or did any of the other things people claim it does to them, not it certainly didn't hurt me. I'd be more suspicious of an anxiety spike. It will settle down.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone here has had this experience. I do not have tinnitus, but I do listen to binaural beats.

After falling asleep with my headphones on, I awoke hearing sounds as modulated. Human voices as modulated. It lasted for several hours. It was very strange. Now if I listen to binaural beats, even for twenty minutes, the modulation will appear, but only for 15 minutes and then go away.

I cannot figure out what is going on, but I am very curious.

Did the fasting yield a permanent reduction? I know @Telis said water fasting for 8 days gave him a big volume drop.

No, it did not. But, all my symptoms continue to improve with time.

Checking back in. My high end created by BB video had subsided greatly in the last month. Holding out for it to stick...cross fingers. Only took 4 years.

I must say it is an absolute relief to know I'm far from the only person to fall afoul of binaural beats. More or less same thing happened to me last week when I decided to listen to some... I did so for about 30 minutes and within minutes I heard this multi tone in my tinnitus that wasn't there before. By the third day it had changed from low tones to a high frequency celestial chiming. It's usually quite faint but sometimes I get the odd louder 'ping', which I can either hear in silence or when I'm listening to music or people talking. Been driving me bananas! I also developed a pulsing sound that comes with the chiming too...

It fluctuates throughout the day but overall it seems to have been getting gradually quieter over the course of the week, but I'm still a bit worried about whether it will be here in perpetuity or if it'll stop eventually.

For what it's worth I'm glad I'm not alone in this.
