      Tinnitus Since:
      8/2014
      Cause of Tinnitus:
Loud gig/year of loud headphone usage.
I felt a pressure in my ear, after that the pressure is subsiding but now I have some reactivity in my ear.
Now I know you don't believe in reactive Tinnitus but every time I take the chips bag next to me and make sounds with it, when I stop I hear a ring stopping with it as well.
I'm afraid if this isn't an infection or hearing cell degeneration-don't know if that even exist I read somewhere that Tinnitus patients get that.
Also for the last few days I've been having left ear pressure when I wake up but it's usually gone after I yawn a few times.
I don't know whether I should go to a doctor to see if its an infection or if I should just treat it as a random spike.
I'm also very afraid that if it is an infection if they syringe me or something and make my Tinnitus a lot worse since I see a lot of people on this forum had gotten theirs or had it go worse after syringing for infection.

I am really afraid right now I can't handle reactive Tinnitus in my left ear.

If it means anything the Tinnitus spiked for a few minutes but now it seems it's lower than it's ever been so far.
Is it an infection or just random pressure or something like that, should I rush to check it out at the ENT's or should I wait and see if it's still there tomorrow.

Again I'm scared out of my mind right now.
I can also feel a bit pressure in the left ear the right one is completely normal.

OK. That can happen to anybody.

That's not true. I do not like the term "reactive tinnitus" for a number of reasons - but if you tell me that your tinnitus reacts to sound (or to certain sounds), that is a well-described phenomenon.

      OK. And ...?

With all due respect. I think you are making yourself sick over nothing. Not that your tinnitus is nothing - but you really need to stop worrying about every little change that comes along. You've been do0ing that since you first started posting ... and I think it's time to rearrange your priorities. I know, easier said than done. But all this worrying is just compounding your own misery.

I don't know either, but it's been three weeks since you first posed this question - so I suspect you have figured out the answer yourself by now, which is why I purposely waited to respond.

Nobody does ear syringing for an infection. Again, you are making yourself sick over nothing. If the ENT suggests syringing because you have excess wax and he or she cannot see your tympanic membrane, then ask your ENT to use a different method of removing it.

Well, it's been three weeks - so ask yourself how you've handled it to date. I bet you've handled it well (save for all the worrying).

      You already know the answer.

You don't sound out of your mind to me; you sound quite sane.

And my elbow hurts a bit today. But you don't see me posting about it on "Elbow Talk." Look, I'm not poking fun at you. And I do not wish to be harsh. I just want you to get ahold of yourself and put your life in order. If you cannot do it on your own, then find somebody who can help you face-to-face.

Here is something Markku posted regarding the Doctors' Corner:

Our aim is to build on the public knowledge base and help dispel myths around treatments; it isn’t intended as a substitute for any kind of personal support.

Please remember that the Doctor won't be able to comment on any individual case; it's just not possible to do that without a proper consultation.

Please keep it in mind. Again, I do not wish to be harsh - but at least think about it.

@Markku, if you wish to add anything to this thread, I hope you will feel free to do so.

      All the best -
