It's going to be -55 wind chill tonight here. 62 degrees is t-shirt weather. You need to get stronger :)

If you get the chance, come to beautiful Australia - you can choose whatever climate you want!
Our continent is as big as the US so you can have, snow, desert, oceans or cities

I've lived all over the US, so I know every place has its pluses and minuses. But its hard to beat South Florida in January, when most of the rest of the country has dead grass, bare trees and weeks of grey days.

Like Christine, the thing I love the most is the many days of sunlight -- plus the beautiful tropical plants that grow nowhere else in the continental U.S.

August here, however, is another matter...

Tommotow twelve degrees is the high in the northeast. Much lower with the
      Wind chill.

I've been to Florida a couple of times, great place. Last time was October 2010, just after the rain storms. I arrived just as the last shower went away. Fort Lauderdale, Miami, the keys. Nice memories.

Hey Per, yeah, I live in Fort Lauderdale, right downtown. It's really nice... not as crazy as Miami (but close enough to go down for a night of fun), a city that's big enough for some culture but not too big, more affordable than the Keys (although you can't beat the Keys for beautiful ocean water). Never thought I would be a Floridian but have been here more than 30 years.

30 years, then your obviously at home. Most people seem to have a relaxed and comfortable way of living down there, coming from a rather cold country Florida has always felt exotic and a real holiday destination for me, that's when I wanna take a longer trip. Normally us Scandinavians travel to Spain for some sun and warmth. I also can't believe how affordable cars and fuel is in the states! The roads are also nice to use. In 2010 I took the route from Lauderdale to the keys and back. Great scenery - and i love those diners you have there, like Denny's for instance. Dangerous stuff cause it's all so large portions.

First time I traveled there was in 1997. It was a solo trip and I took the turnpike up to Orlando. I was really impressed by the Universal Studios theme park and they had a Scandinavian pavilion there at Epcot, I ended up being invited to a private Viking party (fest) that the staff arranged at another location later at night. I was supposed to skydive at Cape Canaveral, I had brought my skydiver rig with me and everything but It didn't turn out cause the winds were too strong at the time.

That was actually the year when all hell broke loose in context of panic attacks etc. I started when I returned, probably because I had been trough extreme mental pressure prior to that vacation, when I came back my system had time to absorb the problems and then I hit the wall.

I live in coastal Southern California. The weather's been warm. Too warm. And too dry. I'd love some cooler. temps and rain. It's been in the 70's Fahrenheit during the day.

      Christine,
You are so lucky to live in a beautiful, warm place!! I appreciate that right now, because it's very cold at the moment here in Atlanta, GA. We're not used to 6 degree weather (our blood is too thin!!), and are looking forward to a warm-up here soon!

That IS cold for Atlanta, Karen... I lived there for a year when I was a teen and my mom lives there still. Got to see snow at Christmas there a few years ago but its unusual.

      @Lady Di,

Yes, snow and cold weather doesn't happen too often around here! We actually saw some snow flurries here the other day, when the cold weather first occurred. Schools were closed for two days, not because of snow or ice, but because the buses might not be able to start due to cold.

You're lucky to be living in lovely Fort Lauderdale, which really is a great place to live! My husband was born in Fort Lauderdale, and grew up in Hollywood, Florida. We are not native Atlantans; I was born in Pennsylvania and my hubby in Florida!

Wow, small world! I do like I here but miss Atlanta in the spring, with the dogwoods. My family also lives north, in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains, and I miss a landscape that isn't totally flat. Great biking here, though; n0 hills!

I live in Missouri and it has been below 30 here for a while no, and it went into the negatives last week. It has also been snowing here off and on. I don't even think 30 is that cold, I would go out in a T-shirt lol.

@Jeff M., Winter and spring are usually good here. I love rain and I wish we had more of it. I don't like summers here... It's too hot for me. I love spending summertime on the Olympic Peninsula.

Have you lived here your entire life?

It took me a several years to adjust back to the cold after living in Hawaii for 2 years. I'll say one thing, it didn't seem right when it was 80 degrees on christmas day. That whole fall/winter felt odd.
