      Dear Doctor,

I am having an MRI tomorrow and I am going to have sufficient ear protection so as to not become overwhelmed by the noises. My question is that whether MRI messes with neurons and thus making T worse ? Is this a possibility apart from the noise factor ?

Sorry I understand my question is vague and maybe funny. I am just clearing my concerns. Thank you

The MRI does not "mess with neurons." As long as you have adequate ear protection, any exacerbation of your tinnitus will likely be due to your anxiety about the whole thing and should settle down. Be sure that your study is done with and without contrast and that it includes the IACs (internal auditory canals) as well as the brain.
