You've described your situation very well, and it is possible that you have PT. But the first thing to do, in my opinion, would be to have an ENT or other doctor check your ear for inflammation. Then, do as the doctor prescribes, if there is an ear infection or other problem.

If no ear infection or inflammation is found, then you might want to pursue being checked by a doctor who understands what pulsatile tinnitus is. That doctor might be a specialist, such as a neurologist or neurotologist.

The pulsating can be caused by many things, including high blood pressure, increased fluid in the body, or some sort of obstruction, injury near the ear, or vascular condition.

First things first, however. Please do consider having your ear checked out to be sure there are no other problems. I hope you'll update us, after you see a doctor, on how you're doing. I have pulsatile tinnitus in my right ear, too. Mine occurred right after taking blood pressure meds for the first time.

Maybe being out in the wind does have something to do with it. It's also very possible that your ear is inflamed or even infected. It is really hard to say, and I hope you do get checked out by a professional if it doesn't go away.

I was just thinking that yours does seem somewhat like mine; I too had mild regular tinnitus in my right ear before the pulsating started. It could be that the ear was already vulnerable, and in your case, more likely to become irritated in some way.

I really hope it goes away soon for you!

I just responded to your PM. Also, the fullness in the ears is a pretty common symptom of tinnitus (not just pulsatile tinnitus), and it seems to come and go. Mine has pretty much gone away now, but in the beginning, the feeling of fullness was really bad and very bothersome. I was constantly trying to pop my ears, which did nothing toward making it go away. I think it's an imbalance in the Eustachian tubes. Eventually, yours may go away on its own, too.
