      Hello everyone!

I have been suffering from (finally diagnosed as endolymphatic hydrops) tinnitus for about the past 4 months. While I am far from cured, I have gotten tremendous relief in the past few weeks from several prescriptions - hydrchlorothiazide, singulair....don't ask me why it helps, and supplements that include lysine, magnesium, iodine, chromium and vitamin c/all B. I also have PCOS and migraines, which may be why some of these have been helpful. I believe the onset of my situation was caused by stress, a virus or both.

One of the biggest changes I've seen in the past few days has come from listening to this track, which is "supposed" to enhance alpha waves in your brain for about 20 minutes first thing in the morning. My tinnitus has gone from insanely loud and debilitating sounds like a lawnmower with car alarms to a soft hum. I have a specific sound like a spinning top that I hear first thing in the morning that this seems to completely erase. As someone with such a wide range of sounds that I've been unable to habituated to, I couldn't not share. Hope this helps someone else.

Interesting... so you listen to the whole thing before you go to work? Do you use headphones to do it?

I do use headphones (I read that this is more effective and I have some mild, lower time hearing loss so I prefer earbuds or headphones). The whole thing is a few hours long - I think it's just a long repetitive melody - but I just listen to about 20 minutes right when I wake up and right befor I fall asleep.

Post if you try it, I'm curious if it has a similar effect for anyone else. I tried a few different binaural tunes and some of them actually made me feel twitchy or didn't have any impact...this one at worst is very soothing!

      Acoustic Trauma
Hi, do you have any hearing loss? Was your diagnosis based on your symptoms? I have a low humming sound and various high tones like a beehive. I also have PCOS and medium insulin resistance. My diagnosis was acoustic trauma with the effects of it to resemble Menieres. I have noticed that salt in food makes the airplane engine sound/ low humming to spike badly and after eating sugar or after eating a meal with complex carbs to make my beehive spike badly. I was prescribed nootropil but made my tinnitus spike badly because it has too much sodium/salt. I restrict carbs, sugar and salt from my meals (found that my grandma was putting more salt in foods for the last 6 months). I was prescribed beta-synto and ginkgo biloba. Do you notice any improvement on betahistine or ginkgo? I also find that when listening to certain binaural or hearing test tones on youtube to lower my tinnitus to the minimum for the day. I believe your onset was due to a virus. Mine started with a hiss after a 3 week pharyngitis (I wasn't given any antibiotics but I suspect that it was mononucleosis because I was super tired during those 3 weeks, had constant elevated temperature, every night I had 38 C temperature and continued to be tired for 3-4 weeks after my recovery) and then worsened by the acoustic trauma, 2 concussions, salt/sugar and allergies/etd.
