      Hi all,

      Sorry for the long post

I've been through a very stressful time over the last few months and my symptoms have been very weird.

this has happened to me before but not this bad, i have been dealing with anxiety for about 8 years now.

At first it was a weird off balance feeling that made me panic and was very anxious about it causing me to worry constantly, i ended up getting fullness in the ears, insomnia and stomach problems along with heart flutter, muscle twitches and spasms and sensitive skin, the off balance feeling is still sticking around but stomach issues seem to be decreasing but now i have tinnitus and when I'm in a quiet room certain sounds make my inner ear twitch or flutter and even when i massage the back of my head my left ear flutters.

I have been to an ENT specialist and done hearing tests and the VNG test which all seemed normal, doctors just say its anxiety and stress are causing it but i feel the symptoms are causing my anxiety not the other way around and they just want to shove antidepressants down my throat and my Chiro just thinks adjusting my neck will fix everything and I'm scared to let him.

I personally think its something to do with my neck, weather it be muscle related or something to do with blood flow i don't know yet.

I'm dealing with this okay for now but the off balance feeling and tinnitus is really getting to me, has anyone been down the same path that can offer some guidance?

I totally get your issue. I will say this much, depression+anxiety can do TONS to the body and mind. The last month or 2 things been very heavy and anxious filled for me. All of sudden I'd get these nasty headaches that I use to get once in a while. I was getting them and still do at times on a daily basis. A feeling of dizziness also gets me at times.

I attribute anxiety+depression or just sinus/allergies for my situation. I'll give you an example: I'll be doing really good and as i start heading to my martial arts lessons, the mystery headache/ bit of dizziness starts showing up.

Once I am in the studio and practicing it goes away and doesn't come back. Anxiety + allergies can cause these things. Since your tinnitus is very new, it can be up setting you. This is perfectly normal. Neck issues can cause headaches, possibly loss of balance and possibly tinnitus or louder ones. I don't trust them so I will not go to a chiro.

In regards to meds. not everyone needs meds. Some do need it, but others don't. By reducing our stress and eating healthy and being positive....we can stay off the meds. Now, if some are doing this and their situation needs meds, than that is a different matter.

      Good luck!

I know how you feel. I started getting my mystery headache/dizzy feeling as I was going for my martial arts training tonight. As I stepped into the studio and started with the cardio, It went away. I think stress/anxiety plays a role in this. Possibly allergies as well. I am dealing with this on a daily basis lately and it is very annoying...so you for sure have my sympathy.

PS- TMJ can cause dizziness as well. I have had a bad jaw, clicking jaw for over 20 years, but I am not attributing my intrusive tinnitus to that. I damaged my ears via loud sounds and meds....
