I mean in anechoich chamber you would hear all the body noises...and probably get anxiety because of it...
and houses are so quiet now...that you hear the head noises...

but yeah masking doesn't work either :(

I don't know what to do I've been crying every night for a long time.can't tell the doctor about the thoughts for the fear of them locking me up and giving ototoxic meds lol.I have read that many anxiety meds make tinnitus worse?

I don't now what to do :( Same thing every night. starts at 11 pm or so.......and in the morming the feeling is gone..but comes when the night falls

I've been in an anechoic chamber. I didn't hear any body noise (execpt T), you’re going too deep. It's just a silent chamber for electromagnetic waves, and sound of course it would be quiet. Think about a silent room.

There was a doctor on this forum that had some reassuring effect on me by his words, that few meds are ototoxic. Work with your doctors. My doc got me on an anti-dep. I just looking for a real deep sleep. Maybe it could work for you.

You don't think masking works, living your life does, that always wins.

James nailed it. T is more psychological than physical. Learning to cope with the noise in our head we can't modulate. Some can make this adjustment on their own. Others struggle. I have had conversations with many about this. Those that struggle the most are naturally prone toward the anxiety end of the scale in outlook about life. By contrast, I know people that have it with full lives and their response is yeah, its there but honestly it doesn't change my life a bit. They are distracted by their enjoyment of life. Acceptance we nor life are perfect. Perhaps a reordering or wake up call how you view things. Self love in spite of our imperfections. If you struggle past the infant stage of contracting tinnitus which weirds everybody out, seek therapy. Drug therapy to rebalance the chemistry of the brain helps more than words can write. Nobody can will mental health and sometimes you need to adjust your brain chemistry through medication so that you can go on to lead a more normal life and get the sleep you need to restore yourself. Don't fight it alone. Seek a MD to help you if you believe you need it.

yea that's what I mean about habitutating to the sound. That we can never be truly in 'silence' since in true silence we would still hear our nervous system noises etc?

      Okay. Back to basics.

Open up your windows in your house and let in some natural environmental noise.
