Hi, I'm 45 y.o registered nurse my T started August 1, 2012, a low hissing soft pitched in the middle of my head...it seems to be fading but I had a setback last Sept 7, I attended Mass with loud volume speakers after that my T changed to a high pitched sound with cicadas/crickets in the background both ears now...went to ENT diagnosed with normal to mild SNHL at 6-8 khz high frequency...i was actually getting the hang of it when last Sept 19 when I was attending/visiting a patient in a facility they were having a fire alarm inspection and one alarm got me (even though I have my earplugs on) was so loud and I'm too close now the high pitch is back...sigh....I was hoping it might go away...now I'm scared of noises....scared of the future...so I'm here to learn...and get support. Thanks.

Don't be scared :) Rest your ears and it will be better with time. But don't expose your self anymore to loud noise. Also wear earplugs with you all the time, i do. You never know where you will end up.
Anyway after years of having TT i can just tell you things dont get better over night. I takes weeks, months sometimes, so be patient, and don't go think what if it doest disappear etc.. i will be better. i promise ;) Good luck!
