It's been 3 years living with on and off pulsatile tinnitus (on top of my regular tinnitus) and I feel the time has finally come for me to try and take more action. I feel inspired reading these threads that claim pulsatile tinnitus is NOT regular tinnitus and can be diagnosed and treated. I am living through a phase of it right now that is just plain terrible. It is constant. As in 24/7. It disrupts my sleep just about everyday, makes it almost impossible to clearly hear the TV, and gives me anxiety that is most certainly taking years off my life. I'm 37. The sound is NOT the more common whooshing, but instead high frequency ringing, matching the sound of my heartbeat. This is all in one ear by the way.

Occasionally, sometimes for weeks, maybe even for a month or more, the pulsatile tinnitus will disappear. At one point it was gone for many months! Maybe even 6 months to be exact. But in recent times, it has returned more frequently. Call it stress, call it a poor diet, I don't know. But I cannot live like this any longer. I had an MRI done 2.5 years ago that came back normal. Now I have finally made an appointment with Neurologist/Neuro-Interventional Surgery place that appears to have very good knowledge of pulsatile tinnitus and reading their website section about pulsatile tinnitus and how it can be diagnosed comforted me very much. Still, I'm skeptical.

I have pretty significant hearing loss as noted by my tests back at the ENT when this all began, and something tells me there won't be anything underlying to diagnose. Of course I pray I'm wrong. Sometimes I feel there really is something that triggers the pulsatile tinnitus, but to last for weeks at a time? I don't know. Nothing at all I do with my neck or chin or anything stops it btw. This is 100% constant Pulsating tinnitus. If I'm in a rush and my heart rate gets worked up, forget about it. It's like a fire alarm going off in my hear. Anyone with any info or advice they can possibly share with me during this time would be extremely appreciated.

      Thank you.

I also believe I may have this. Quiet at night. But first thing in the morning till night pulsing all day! I also had an MRI that showed no issue. Someone posted about an MRA test. I may try that.
