      Hows this for an alternative.

A poster on a british T forum I frequent called Di Oz, swears by sound cancelling headphones ,she wears them a few hours a day .
When she puts them on the T dissapears and over the months it seems to be softening It as well.
Ive followed her posts for months and she Is obviously genuine.

Do a bit of searching for more of her posts.

As she knows from our posts to her we all wonder how total quietness produces the T to go but she Insistes it works for her and seems to be treating the T as as well.

EDIT: http://www.actiononhearingloss.org.uk/community/forums/tinnitus.aspx?g=posts&t=8262 2nd post down from Di Oz Is one of her good ones...and 7th post down from her excellant

I bought a pair for the plane ride on an upcoming trip. I tried them and I can still hear my T with them on.

It would be great if some people benefit from it. Maybe it depends on the level of T. What I did notice with the pair I bought is that the volume control goes really low so I can use them to cancel out some noise and listen to music without blasting your ears.

Its interesting. Also interesting that an audiologist said they give the ears a 'rest from sound' when we read all over that ears are happiest with sound and they dislike silence.

She's actually saying that her hearing improved with the use of them. I wonder if her hearing just improved anyway and that's why the T has diminished?

Either way, you'll probably find me tracking down these headphones to give them a try, sigh......

Personally I tend to agree with Grey1's thoughts:

Di Oz's experience is an interesting anecdotal experience however :)
