    Tinnitus Since:
    02/2017
    Cause of Tinnitus:
    Virus
I started getting a high ringing (i'm not sure what you call it really, buzzing, ringing...). It is pretty full on 24/7. To me it is loud as the people in conversation, if I was having one.
Finding anyone who understands what it is or what it's like is difficult in a country town.

I did see a specialist in Sydney who says that my tinnitus is from a previous virus and that there is nothing that can be done, just live with it and don't let it get you down.

He suggested B12 and Zinc. He says if nothing happens after 6 weeks, stop taking it as it's not doing anything. I'm 4 weeks in and nothing has changed.

I'm not sure if this is coincidental or not, but my eye sight has deteriorated in my left eye (tinnitus in left ear) significantly since my last eye check up one month prior to getting tinnitus. My optometrist is concerned of the dramatic change in my left eye, right eye has remained unchanged. He wants me to get a blood test then go from there.
As I say this could be a coincidence but who knows.

I guess the hardest thing for me is that no one knows what it's like. I find myself, when someone replies to me telling them of my tinnitus, they invariably tell me they have it or know someone who has tinnitus. Then I basically dismiss them as not knowing what they are talking about, as it can't be as bad as mine. So bloody hypercritical of me I know.

Well I'm not sure what happens now, but at least i feel better getting that off my chest, a therapudic session.

    Regards
    Glenn
