      this looks intresting, the article says:
      The discovery of an ASO-type drug that can effectively rescue hearing opens the door to developing similar approaches to target and cure other causes of hearing loss," says Dr. Hastings who has been awarded a grant from the National Institute of Health to further develop the ASOs for the treatment of deafness with Drs. Lentz, Rigo and Duelli.

      hmmm an ASO drug

      "RNA-like molecule, called an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO)"

      i try to learn these words, and struggle...but the idea that researchers can manipulate the g-nome to overcome hearing loss is great news...hope they hurry up ;)

      You've just made me chuckle MT with your 'hope they hurry up' but its for quite a dark reason..... yesterday I was thinking about something that someone posted about rushing through new drugs and I thought that they might be more likely to try out new drugs on us older ones!!
