      Dear Dr. Nagler,

Thank you for your previous answers and once again, I'm really sorry for your loss.

I would like to ask, is there any connection between decreasing of cognitive abilities and tinnitus? I'm starting to feel that I'm losing my memory. I can't concentrate, can't study and can't remember basic things. I am extremely and severely sleep deprived for 3 months now.

Furthermore, is there any link between dementia, Alzheimer's and tinnitus?

      Thank you.

Hello @Kriszti - and thank you for your kind and supportive words.

Tinnitus can for some be distracting enough to interfere with focusing on the task at hand. But tinnitus does not affect cognition per se. There is absolutely no link between tinnitus and Alzheimer’s or any other form of dementia.

      Stephen M. Nagler, M.D.
