Hey everyone! After 10 and a half months of suffering from Hyperacusis, I can gladly say I made a full recovery through TRT, CBT, emotional support from my loved ones, and a positive mindset. I created this video to share my experience with hyperacusis on how I personally recovered. I wish you all the best of luck and I want to let you know that hyperacusis is NOT always a chronic condition.

Adam, this is an absolutely fantastic video. Thank you so much for sharing. I feel more positive about my personal outlook already, so much so I have inquired to get CBT of my own. I am already doing my own personalized TRT with whitenoise. Thank you!

      Hey Adam,

Just a thought here. I had a relapse of T & H which occurred back in October last year. I am still going through it now with the eventual goal being habituation. H is starting to settle but it usually takes up to a year...taking about 6 months to a year last time.

Anyway, my point was that after six years of going to concerts, movies and not using ear plugs it came back. I think the course was actually my 400w speaker in my room which I was using to play white noise at night. Volume was low but the intensity was probably what did it. My symptoms on build up was sore ears, which I put down to tiredness, maybe an infection etc. They were actually warning signs.

I just want to advise you to take any ear pain seriously going forward. If it starts happening it might be a good idea to take a break from loud sounds for a wee bit to avoid any re-occurrence. In saying that please make sure you wear hearing protection in any environment north of 85db, this includes malls, movies, concerts etc. You can get musician ear plugs custom made that will actually make the voice sound normal not muffled. Trust me they are worth the investment. You don't want it to come back and you don't want any additional T sounds or louder T. :)

I think I am realtively lucky that I haven't yet had any increase in actual T volume (just my nervous system and limbic system have latched on) making it louder. However, I do have new sounds that weren't there before!

Hope that helps. Just want to make sure you don't relapse after making such amazing progress.

      God bless mate.
      Mark

Thanks for sharing this video!!! About an hour ago I just started to experience what I believe might be hyperacusis, my T started about 20 days ago, so i am fairly new to all of it.

Hope you continue to have your relief of H and your T, once again thank you so much for sharing this story.

Your hyperacusis went away on its own - not from TRT or CRT.

Also I had hyperacusis and it went away on its own after 1 year.

Peripheral nerves regenerate on their own. The TRT/CBT mafia profits off the body's own natural healing process.

Wait, so there's hope for hyperacusis then? It just takes time?

      Dear Adam 007:

This is great news. I have had hyperacusis for almost 24 years. Maybe if I could have stuck with TRT, I would have got a lot better. As far as Contrast's comment that peripheral nerves regenerate on their own, mine never completely did after 24 years, and the nerves of most people with hyperacusis never do. What seems most common is that people with hyperacusis will recover to a certain extent, if not traumatised again, that is, if they are careful. But that extent is still within the condition of having hyperacusis but less. So it does not look like we can count on Mother Nature 99.9% of the time for a full recovery.

One last thing: a request. I cannot listen to this video of yours Adam007, because cheap tinny computer speakers wreck my ears very quickly for some reason, even at low levels. Can you provide a short written summary of your experiences?
