      Tinnitus Since:

      Hi everyone,

My tinnitus started a few months ago. It is mostly in the right ear. I haven't seen an audiologist yet, but I am setting up an appointment this week. I have back and neck issues, and believe that my tinnitus may be a result, or at least aggravated by, the neck problems. There are several bulging and herniated discs in my cervical spine. That said, I should also mention that I was on an anti-depressant, Venlafaxine, for a few months BEFORE my tinnitus started. I stopped the anti-depressant a couple of months ago, but the tinnitus is still here. I don't plan on going back on the anti-depressant because of side-effects such as dizziness and shortness of breath, though. I have not tried any drugs, other than homeopathic drops and supplements. Neither one has helped.

I use a noise device at night. It makes water and air sounds which help mask the tinnitus to some extent, except when I lie on the right side of my head (on the right ear). Then the tinnitus gets very loud and makes it very difficult to fall asleep.

If anyone has suggestions on what I should do, I would appreciate it.

      Thank you.

      Roberto
