Hello Everyone. I was just google searching "I have tinnitus and want to die" which led me to this website. I am 40 years old. I first noticed ringing In my ears 10 years ago. In the last year or so, it has gotten so bad, I am falling into sadness. I work 40 hours a week and it is has gotten to the point of affecting my ability to concentrate or focus. I was born with severe hearing loss and I do wear hearing aids sometimes but I can't stand the background noise. Let me just say I hate tinnitus, it is ruining my life. I can't deal with it anymore. I pray that there will be some miracle cure for all of us. I also pray that I wake up every morning and it will be gone. Thanks for your support.

Hi, Amy, and welcome! I'm so sorry you're having a difficult time right now. You've come to the right place for lots of good information and support. We understand what you're going through. I've been a tinnitus sufferer for many years, and have had severe tinnitus for the last four years. It can really get you down, if you let it.

The best advice I can offer right now for you is to try to distract yourself, and try to live as normally as possible. Right at first, my tinnitus was really bad, and I was anxious, fearful, unable to sleep, and not sure I could make it. But I kept at it, putting one foot in front of the other, until I'm now living life much more normally again. I didn't want to take any drugs to help me through it, so I ended up taking natural supplements. The ones that have worked best for me were magnesium (which I'm still taking), holy basil, pharma GABA, melatonin, B vitamins, and fish oil. I also have taken such things as reishi mushrooms and moringa oliefera. These supplements are subtle but calming, and they helped get me through the worst of the anxiety and stress.

I'm sure other people will have additional suggestions for you. Please don't give up; try some of the suggestions on this forum. And please know that there are some promising treatments out there that are in trials right now. There is hope!!!

      Best wishes and hugs,
      Karen
