Hi fellow suffers, although I have not had my tinnitus for more than a month (as yet), it is bad enough to not want it for the rest of my life!

Mine started shortly after I had been using my vibration plate fitness machine. It may well be a coincidence but I am curious to know if anyone else has had or heard of someone with a similar experience?

Tinnitus from using a vibration plate fitness machine, it is truly the first time I hear that, but with what I know about tinnitus, it isn't that surprising.

Have you seen your doctor and an ENT specialist yet? Did they test your hearing, your inner ear, your Eustachian tubes?

The question for me is: what is a vibration plate fitness machine? how can that cause T? how can they test the Eustachian tube and what is the connection for ET and T?

Hi, thanks for your reply, I have seen the ENT specialist here in Cyprus, he was dismissive, told me I would have to live with it, hearing tests were all fine. I am going to the UK on Sunday, I used to work in the ENT dpt there as a Nurse practitioner so I may be able to pull a string or 3.

Hi there, the vibration machine exerts a G force vibration on the body to tone up all the muscles, I just wonder if it has disturbed the fluid in my inner ear. I have found no evidence to say it does, but there is a first time for everything.

The Eustachian tube can be tested with Tympanometry
A too narrow Eustachian Tube might be causing tinnitus in some cases.

Or if the Eustachian tubes do not close when they should, this is called Patulous ET. Could be diagnosed by fiber optic Nasendoscope examination.

Don't know. Likely had it for a few months at least, but noticed and recognized as tinnitus on 10/2015, perhaps due to higher volume
      Cause of Tinnitus:
Not sure, (a) lot of stress lately, (b) whole body vibration machine
Hi Polly, I am hoping that you read this post and respond. I read your post with great interest. It seems that I may have also caused my tinnitus from a vibration plate machine or it could just be a coincidence. It seems you had this two years ago. Would you please care to say if it went away or got better? And if you know what was the underlying condition? Any insight or advise you can share would be tremendously helpful to me.

      warm regards,
      K
