This is like saying New Clinical trial to see if eating two apples helps prevent damage from a gunshot to the face.Trial requires you to eat two apples and then be shot in the face.

Scheduled to be completed in April, 2014, the trial's results should be published soon.

If the antioxidants are effective, they will provide a cheap and easy to obtain prophylactic treatment before exposure to loud noises. All tinnitus sufferers worry about attending loud events--such as concerts, weddings, parties, etc. If this prophylactic works, they will offer an additional level of protection. I would still wear appropriate hearing protection and limit my time exposure.

Here is specific information about the trial:

The dosages are NAC (600 mg) and magnesium (200 mg).

For complete information on the trial see:

I can tell you about the results right now: I take between 500 and 1K mg of magnesium daily and at least 500 mg of NAC daily as routine with my health supplements, not part of any study. Been doing this for over a year...tinnitus continues unabated...nuff said!

      Just a minor update:

First to recall the reference of the trial:
      https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01727492
Status: unknown since November 2013. No results posted.

I sent an e-mail today to Annick Gilles, the contact of the trial to ask for the results.

I did a search today, once again I did not manage to find the results.
I just realized that the contact of the trial did not reply to me. Honestly, I don't know what to do.
